I think three in midfield (including Knight) should be the bottom line, and everything else should fit around that. For me Collins is a bench option if McGoldrick up front isn't working, or he needs a break. Either way though we shouldn't be playing both. I hope Warne saw what the rest of us saw - I've got a nagging feeling he can be a bit stubborn sometimes. He was slow to move from five at the back. Hopefully he'll be quicker to revert to three (midfielders) in midfield.

Looks like the EFL have put the officials on a war footing to make sure we don’t go up.

For me, Dobbin carries a threat and is positive in most of his decisions. I'd rather see him leading the line than Collins given a choice. I think for whatever reasons - and not all down to him either tbf - that we are a poorer side when Collins is in it and easier to defend against.

    Was attack v defence 10v11.
But we were poor. Unlucky not to score a second goal, but general play was poor. So many misplaced passes. Crossing was garbage.

Hard to say anything about formations as they went down to 10 men. We were looking second best before the sending off. Everything seemed rushed and still too many poor passes and crosses even with a man extra. Could have won but not sure what would have happened 11 v 11. Overall, poor

Could have been worse. Clear from the second half performance that we need that midfield 3 for the next game, whether he plays White or Sibley or Smith in there Warne really needs to start with a 4-3-3 in the next games.

Poor management again from Warne. How he saw that Wycombe game and decided no changes were needed is beyond me. Shocking

This is definitely worse than the time I stood on a plug. In fact, I might go and deliberately stand on one now just to help me feel something, because this match so far has turned my brain in to mushy peas.

Finally a good cross... two Derby players go for it and get in each others way ?

It's obvious that this 2 up top is not working. It's obvious that we miss an extra body in midfield. It's no coincidence that the previous run was built on the lone striker with that extra man in the middle. Just switch it back to what was working Warne. If it isn't broke, don't fecking try to fix it.

This is awful. Looks like we’ve never watched them play. Far too slow on the ball, telegraphing everything. Cashin barely found a white shirt but he’s not the only one. Truly horrendous performance. Not sure there’s enough subs to take off Roberts, Dobbin, Hourihane, Collins etc
    Rightly booed off.

Going to play devils advocate here, I think we have been poor so far, too many wayward aimless passes, our defence looks shaky. Doesn't feel like we are set up properly, Collins hasn't had an impact yet but that maybe due to our poor passing in the final third more than anything.

We can improve a lot on what I have seen so far.

This law needs to be reinforced and reiterated at the start of a season.
Stops all the silliness. Keeper is the only person allowed to get it, ref manages that through extra time and yellow cards.
Keeper was a c**k though. He dropped the ball then dived on it again.
Collins tries to ingratiate himself with the fans by showing his passion. I'd rather he showed his instep and controlled the ball.

I would disagree about a side picked to out Wycombe them. The initial side was too attacking. We needed 3 in midfield and Barkhuizen out wide for the first 60.

It was a fabulous goal from Dobbin. Cashin raced to get to the ball to grab it and rush it back to the penalty spot, but the Wycombe keeper beat him to it and grabbed the ball. At this point the only thing to do is go back to the halfway line and hope the game restarts quickly. It's not our ball. It's theirs. They have the kickoff.
Cashin was riled, and got into a stupid altercation, enabling the keeper to waste time going to ground holding the ball. Cash's fault, but in the end he was sensible and withdrew. Then Collins was an idiot and ran into the fray and started a fight with their keeper to try and grab the ball (which is a Wycombe ball) out of the goalie"s hands. The ref was looking for an excuse to send a Derby player off all game. I would not have been surprised had Collins seen red. He shouldn't have been there. He should have been back on the halfway line.

In vokes they have the best target man in this league by a country mile and fozzy hardly won a first header. Korey Smith won't facer a tougher test than McCleary and obita on the left and faced a constant menace from them 2 all game. Win the next 2 home games and this game will be forgotten

    Sad day
fozzie and cashin fabulous 99% of the time. But we see what happens if Didzy has an off day. He was given special attention and was often isolated. As Maradona observed, if you’re a target you play one touch football until they get tired. Today he might have been more useful playing deeper.

Collins’ energy up front is wasted if we’re up against hoofball. Instead, start with Barkhuizen or even Sibley, give us more chance of playing football. Agree with those who say subs came too late.

Not Mr Warne’s finest hour. But hey he’s doing plenty well enough. God I hate Couhig

Agree with all of this. The Ainsworth moment, far outside his technical area when doing it, was just one of many instances when the ref was shown to be miles out of his depth. IIRC we didn't even get a freekick until the 26th minute when someone went horribly through the back of Hourihane. And then there was the moment Collins was intentionally fouled on the left while attempting to get away to launch a quick break, after which the Wycombe player stood over the ball deliberately trying to stop the momentum further by preventing the freekick being taken. Collins, standing where he was fouled, kicked the ball at the Wycombe player in frustration. Instead of the automatic booking for said Wycombe player which it should have been, the ref admonishes Collins and makes him move the ball back five yards behind where the foul occured as his excuse for not getting his card out. I was livid!
And they are a horrible, horrible club indeed. It sticks in the craw to have lost there, but we will bounce back. And at least I've lost my voice from singing and shouting too much!
