    Zombieland (2009)
Not sure how this one escaped me until last Saturday but I enjoyed it. A good cast (Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg) and entertaining zombie road trip storyline with a very good cameo apppearance from Bill Murray thrown in.

Confess I nodded off, but loved watching this morning:
Great to be part of something that's been created to save the future. And Elon Musk did tweet there's a special (small) extra for those of us who waited in line and ordered before the big unveil. And they all come with autopilot (ie are self-driving), Supercharger-enabled (which effectively means no fuel bills ever!) and I love the panoramic galss roof as standard.
The car of the future in the present. With something like 150k preorders already and the US being rolled out first, I'm guessing this won't be until 2019. So at least I've got a little time to try to save up.

In the 3 months that I've had my BMW, I've come to the conclusion that BMW drivers are persecuted minority and our plight should be recognised.
For the previous couple of years I drove a very sensible, large and boring family saloon and other drivers were courteous. They used to let me out and thank me when I let them out.
I then buy a BMW and suddenly everyone is being an arse.
This is most noticeable with lorry drivers on my daily commute on the A1, who not only no longer wave or flash thanks when I let them out in front of me and subsequently overtake them - but now deliberately pull out and cut me up at every opportunity. This never happened with my KIA and I'm confident that any hostility people feel from BMW drivers is purely from our hurt from being misunderstood victims.
When chellenged about this, my (lorry driver) brother said: "Well, you're a BMW driver aren't you?"
Anyone got Bono's phone number for a charity record idea I have?

Yeah, I think I can agree with much of what you say there. Aside from Snyder, GotG was good, and the first Iron Man was really good. I also quite enjoyed the first Thor film, and the first Captain America film. I will see how long my boycott of superhero films goes, and will wait until I hear more about Suicide Squad and Justice League.
Just before I continue, a disclaimer -- I have not seen Ant Man or Winter Soldier.
But with many of these franchises, they get worse really quickly. The Iron Man films went downhill, and the second Thor film was utterly terrible. I also thought that the Avengers films were hugely over-rated and got worse too. I like Joss Whedon, and every review told me how smart and witty the films were. But I just couldn't see it. Perhaps this is my failing, as I've never been a massive fanboy of the comics or the "universe".
This is my problem -- the "universe". We can expect endless films based around these franchises from both the DC and Marvel universes, and it just seems like its a never-ending stream of films designed purely to exploit the fans. BvS is an awful mess, and from what I gather so was Ant Man after Wright was pushed off the project. (By the way, how great would it have been with a Joe Cornish script and directed by Wright?)
I'm posting you a link of Robbie Collin's review of BvS, which is really worth reading. But scroll down to the bottom and you'll see the list of DC films in the pipeline. There are 9 (nine) new films taking us up to 2020. Add that to the Marvel universe and we'll see at least a couple a year for the next decade.
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/film/batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice/review/
You're right that some good directors are trying to do interesting things with some of these films. But most of them are dross, and we're being inundated with this stuff. And we also know that Disney is planning loads of Star Wars spin-offs too. Where is this going to end? Even flipping Ghostbusters has more films planned after the next reboot. And Spiderman -- how many Spiderman reboots do you think we'll see? We've already had two! In the last decade! And now we have two Superman reboots to add to the seemingly never-ending list. Next up is Doctor Strange, with Benedict Cumberbatch. One of our finest actors has succumbed to the urge.
These major studios know they have a captive audience that will lap up any dross they serve up. It just goes to show that the mainstream film industry has given up any last vestige of creativity or originality. They have a stock of existing characters that will be mined for decades to come, and I find that sad.
    Rant. Over.

    Seen it twice now
It's got some serious problems, really poorly cut together with about twice as much plot as it needs. Suffers from being a film setting up all the Justice League films, as shown by a very stupid sequence with an email. I still don't feel like I know this version of Superman at all, in all his scenes he's either brooding (like Batman should) or threatening people (like Batman should). Henry Cavill has a good Superman in him, but the writing for him is turgid. I think Zach Snyder isn't the right man for these projects, hasn't learnt a single thing from the criticism of Man of Steel and he basically can't tell a good, cohesive story.
Also, Jesse Eisenberg (a casting I defended when it was announced) is absolutely laughable as Lex Luthor. Awful performance.
BUT, Batman is great, Affleck is perfectly cast as him. It's a really comic booky Batman with a great Batcave and Bat gadgets, also makes it completely plausible as to how he could fight Superman. Jeremy Irons is a brilliant Alfred. Some great action scenes (and some not so great, very generic action scenes), Wonder Woman is really good in it and Gal Gadot is just ******* gorgeous. I enjoyed it more the second time and while it does have problems, once you get past some of them it's enjoyable enough.
    6.5/10
But be warned, if you're not a comic book fan there are some scenes in there, particularly any nightmare sequences, that are utterly incomprehensible. I vaguely recognised some of them and I have an above average knowledge of this stuff, which says a lot. Prepare to be confused.

Sounds like a little known IDS operation to weed out the benefit cheats, along the same lines of witch-drownings:

On the basis that I had a 1.7 Litre KIA Optima (Large saloon) diesel, I would say the 1.6 Ceed should be fine. The 1.7 was as powerful as my old 2 litre BMW 118d.

I'd love to see The Black Hole updated. A weird film for Disney to make - though obviously on the Star Wars bandwagon at the time.
Agreed. Chronicles of Riddick is another flawed one that I can watch just for the visuals.

The Mist - TV - Horror Channel
Seen it before but thought I'd recommend it as a good Stephen King adaptation (of one of his short stories), with a strange mist full of monsters descending on a US town and the locals all trapped inside a supermarket.
Don't expect a happy ending. Seriously. Don't let that put you off either, though.

so, just to give an update to the hordes of you that messaged me privately, and here publicly, with your concerns and support.
I shelled out £400 on a pretty damned good treadmill from Argos (Reebok ZR9 if you're after a bargain!), and burned off a few calories putting the bloody thing together. I've had three workouts in 3 days and my calves are a bit tight, but I can already feel that I am feeling a bit...no, quite a lot better about myself.
I also got hold of Vitamin D tablets, which have definitely, without doubt, given me more energy in the office at work.
I saw this article today:- http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jan/18/sad-exercise-antidepressants and made me think about writing this.
So, firstly, I'm not too proud to admit I took the advice from posters on here, and secondly, thanks to anyone in here who gave a ****, cos I do about others, and it gave me a little bit of a boost that people didn't just slate me for starting this thread.
    Here's to better times x

Just spent an hour or so reading the debates on imdb. Love it. I think I understood it the next morning after watching it.
I recommend it to anyone with decent powers of concentration.

If you don't like Sci-fi or don't want to think after a movie then avoid this like it's got a Forest flag on it.
Just finished it and wow. Any plot info would be a spoiler. Very clever. Very well paced, trust me. The first 30 mins seem to drag maybe a bit but it's all for good reason.
ill re-visit when the Bacardi has worn off but just now: 9/10 at least (and I don't give 10's)

    Gone girl, great film imo.
Expected a brain free thriller, got a film that explores intimate relationships in sometimes uncomfortable detail.
Massive plot holes, but a solid 8.5/10.
Btw, Rosamund Pike covered with another man's blood, I still would!

Just about what you'd expect really from the series and first film. More toilet & nob gags, this time set in Australia & largely a****st the middle class "gap year travelling" community. More hit than miss & a few genuine laugh out loud moments for me, so despite it being totally brainless and very stupid, it was good fun.
