That's as I heard it too.
He won't (yet) elaborate on the EFL's attitudes and actions/inactions so as not to jeopardise DCFC's defence of some positions, or perhaps to help to mitigate some penalties.
I think he has plenty of 'ammo' regarding some of the EFL tactics and lack of fairness:
Remember the way they used the Chorley FA Cup tie re: counting those junior players of having made a first team appearance, then commuted to  counting those with professional experience - which altered and delayed the meagre embargo player recruitment entitlements; their 'regret' that a points deduction could not follow the £100,000 fine; the announcement of a duplicate Rams/Wycombe League-swap fixture-list, without discussion or reference to the club beforehand?
I don't think he will 'misbehave' on stadium sale factors. He doesn't want the club to fold or be homeless.
I did not hear him say he had invested or lost £200m. Didn't Ed ask him how much he had SPENT? He answered "£200m".
Apart from the revelation about the £4m overspend for one accounting period (hence 4 points deducted) we don't know if other years are non-compliant or by how much.
A few answers, half-answers, some explanations....and a couple of truckloads of other questions still outstanding!

With all player-values (everywhere except the Prem/Europe!) diving, and the revenue losses due to Covid (which aren't an excuse...a Force Majeure occurence!), this all leads me to wonder how many other Championship clubs are in deep sh !t now with FFP and P&S?
Forest...14 managers in 10 years, those departing not poached for fees but booted out in disgrace....some big player transfers....as an aggrieved Rams fan, I have to expect the same harsh level of scrutiny and punishment that the EFL is visiting on my club.
Soon, the bottom three or more!) of the Championship should comprise of non-compliant clubs fighting back points deductions all season!

I'm appalled too by Me's moves to put the club into admin and for the horrendous consequences - but it will also be interesting if there are strands of the interview that real journalists will explore in relation to EFL/Rick Parry's attitudes and conduct in the saga.
Yes - Mel has taken DCFC from heaven to hell but I make no bones about wanting Rick Parry's head on a stake, as well.

I truly believe both Lampard and Rooney were great appointments , for commercial reasons (and why not both are in the top echelons of UK football ) but mostly for their character,  drive and ability. Wtf is wrong recruiting on that basis . I've seen many charlatan managers down the 50 years of support and rather these guys than many of the previous incumbents or any that are currently available .
Stick with Rooney if he sticks with us

I think he did well there.
As much as we can hope for an owner who has billions, it’s not realistic. They all want us at the cheapest price and know that administration is the best way to do that. They’ve forced Mel’s hand and he knows that long term this is the best for the club. Also Mel knows the EFL will never give us a fair run without him gone.
He’s never set out to ruin the club and I’m fairly certain if any of us had the money he had we would have tried to do the same.
The amortisation part was a risk, but the EFL didn’t say a word for years and we were conforming to the financial standards. How someone that is not an accountant gets the final say over an accountant I’ll never know.
As much as everyone can say covid can’t be used as an excuse, it’s had a massive contribution towards it. Our turnover was one of the largest in the championship, probably the biggest of clubs that don’t get parachute payments. We’ve been hit harder than any other club and the timing of Covid came at the end of our big spending.
Interesting what he said about only 2 teams that have been promoted since P&S was brought in have not broken the rules. Shows how broken the system is.
We beat Villa at Wembley and none of this ever happens.

Those slamming Mel should pause for a moment to think about his intentions.
I do not - for a minute - think he's intended to run the club down.
He has spent millions, not to run the club into debt, but to chase the dream. We all supported that chase.
Even though he's managed things badly, which he admits, I do believe that he genuinely thinks the only way he can get new owners in is to put the club into administration.
I'm very far from happy about that, actually been crying about it, but I think it's sincere on his part.

Kev Moore's on Radio Derby quite often, although usually when they want to know how hot it is in Mojacar.
Perhaps we could get rid of the awful Sportscene music and replace it with Phoenix Fire by Witch Cross? Quite an apt title if the club are to rise from the ashes.

Here's a photo of my season ticket from 50 seasons ago (1971-72). It cost £6.20. I think it was my 3rd or 4th S/T.
Of course, this season marks the 50th Anniversary of Brian Clough's title-winning team. Some anniversary, eh?
I haven't yet received this season's S/T card. No explanation given...
Apparently, DCFC asserted that they are being issued on 30th September. I paid for it well over a year ago, carried forward due to Covid.... I think it cost £292 (yep I'm a Senior, of course).
Thank ---k I have the memories. Won't be holding my breath for the postman at the end of the month.

Notice too that Rob Dorsett concludes his timeline on DCFC with:
    "Sep 21 - deducted 9 points"
This kind of gratuitous faux-journalism is how rumours and supposition can get normalised through repetition, and become seen as fact, rather than ongoing speculation.
If you asked fans of other clubs about the DCFC saga they would already say: 'you got deducted 9 points, didn't you?'
All this damaging spam from hacks helps to underline and legitimate the EFL's hopes or aims IMHO.
