The Premier league and the independant body need to realise that they're setting a massive precedent here.
In the future, other clubs will expect punishment to be aligned to that issued to Forest, clubs may decide that signing that extra top international for £35m will earn them more than 4 points over the season, especially when you add on subsequent seasons value of that player.
Also, Leicester have grounds to argue that had Forest been deducted those 4 points last season, they wouldn't have been relegated. Could they sue Forest and/or the Premier league for their losses?

If the  CV likes a Gibb’s-White and the other players they massively overpaid for can’t claw them back 4pts then they deserve to be relegated. But then this isn’t a disincentive at all. They might as well by haaland for £200m knowing that he’s easily worth 4 extra points. 
if the league want to really disincentivise clubs from breaking the rules, they need to make the punishment such that relegation is inevitable. Like ours. 
everton and forest will both stay up, easily. So the punishment affects nothing. They’ll just lose a few quid for lost places. The league might as well have just fined them in the first place.

Forest's claims about being unfairly disadvantaged as a promoted Championship club would certainly hold more weight if they didn't also come out against distributing more pay to EFL clubs less than a week ago:

Best case now is that the 6 points deduction which has been reduced to 4 because of the cooperation of Notts, is appealed by their owner. The appeal fails, taking with it the mitigation of cooperation increasing the punishment up to the full 6 for a frivolous appeal. They go down by 1 point as a result of their own appeal.
That'd do it and send a message to other teams. Yeah they should do that.

It may be difficult, but, I think we all need to remember the inner crappness that is notts forest is strong, the faith and the belief in their ability to fail was on display at the weekend as they allowed Luton an equaliser.

I think we've been incredibly lucky here. 
If we can't gain one more point than Luton by one point by the end of the season, that's out own fault and deserve relegation.

Your lot have been THE most consistent side in the division and having been bang there pretty much all season, I'd like to think that your long wait will finally be coming to an end this season. Decided to read through the thread after hearing the inspiring albeit sad tale of your recently passed young supporter. This post popped out. 
 
Year after year we’ve had close calls with promotion and have thrown it away.  Even now with the lead we have I won’t believe we are promoted until it’s mathematically safe. 
 
After hearing the story about B4 I genuinely hope it’s Pompy and Derby who go up in the automatics. What a fitting tribute that would be for someone who was obviously well loved by this forum and had a good heart. 
 
 

It's a thread started by a young, Derby mad fan known to us as @B4ev6is, B4, or Daniel. He passed away recently which broke many a heart among us Rams as he was as sweet a lad as you could wish to meet and the most fervent and loyal supporter of any club, not just Derby, that I've ever met. His spelling however was shocking, but as a result of learning difficulties, hence the jokes about 'scraves and ballions' you'll find all over the forum. We bumped the thread as part of an effort to keep him close to our hearts and the title was left as was out of respect to Dan and his family. In its own way, it kind of sums up who he was and why he such a favourite among us Rams faithful. No disrespect is intended.

It’s funny that Doncaster airport is called Robin Hood airport. Now, I don’t want to give Nottingham this much credit, but if I was a foreigner flying in to Robin Hood airport, I would definitely expect to be getting flying into Nottingham, and would be incredibly disappointed to find I’m in Doncaster (I would be reasonably disappointed to be in Nottingham, but at least I would have a fairly realistic expectation of being greeted by men in tights).
like, okay Doncaster, by all means make a claim to Robin Hood, but you still have to face facts that to anyone who has ever consumed any Robin Hood media, Robin Hood came from Nottingham and had an American accent. And it shall be forever thus.
