Well done, Derby players, especially Bird and Collins who really stood out today. I thought that Bird should have been taken off but so brave of him to stay on when he must have been in a fair amount of pain.
Fair play to Burton, too. (My birthplace and home for 18 years). I thought they played really well but heads went down at the end. It was a good day for us Rams fans!
I went to school in Winshill from age four to 17 and lived around Burton for thirty years. I was born a Londoner but been in the Black Country (not Birmingham!) since 1981 but still have Burton Albion as my second team. WAY behind the Rams though!
Great result today!!

I’ve been breaking in some new brogues all day today. Definitely worn in now.
I had a great pair of brogues way back when……
I didn’t know it was possible to wear holes in leather soles but they were worn out in three months at most.
Usually my shoes are Warne in for a while and last at least four years.
Warne in for four year contract!

I enjoyed the match even though:-

Colombian ladies are quick to dish it out but stay down in agony at any excuse!
Ref seems scared of something or several players would be on further yellows and the odd red!
-
Columbia ahead 1-0

a) We never beat the Brewers
b) Our season hasn’t begun yet
So!!!
Brewsers 1-3 Rams

I have never forgotten the DET headline when Cloughie first got to the old First Division.
“Relegation start but promotion finish!”
If we had had the internet in August 1968 folk would have probably been going on about Clough and Taylor’s lack of managerial skills at 2nd Division level!
Nuff said!

Just for the record:-
I like Paul Warne.
I do not have to write his annual appraisal; I had to do enough of those at work.
I like marmite but dislike lemon curd. Can’t tolerate 🦞!*
I am not in favour of chopping and changing managers nor do I think it fair to try to interfere with another person’s future by analysing every action they take.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion.Thank you Rev for such a balanced post to initiate this topic.
*Can’t justify like and dislike. Lobster has an adverse effect on my system!

Any evidence of this?
He never tries to make excuses or blame everyone else down to the cleaner’s 🐈⬛
His is a steep learning curve and the evidence should be clear before Christmas!

Paul Warne is an honest man of integrity who sincerely wants what is best for DCFC. He is not infallible and learns from his mistakes.
PS I like the guy!

Talk about gift-wrapped!
-
Play four at back and an attacker can get between 2 and 3 and score!
Play 3 at back and number 2 is (in theory) between an attacker and the goal/keeper!
Are we really aiming to win this anyway?
May as well try 5 3 2 and at least go down fighting tonight.

Beesley scores assisted by his husband in 7th minute.
-
Pure guess but Max Bardell to come on in 85th minute and score the winner!
Sorry it’s a bit vague!
-
Congratulations Mr & Mrs Bradley!
we’ve only got a 48 year head start on you!

Though he did upset the Maine Road dressing room on arrival. Lee Bell and Summerbee were never quite the same. And eventually it all went nipples up. Some fantastic skills though Rodney Marsh. He had a spell at Fulham with George Best didn’t he.
A classic comic moment at Fulham with Georgie tackling Marshie on the same side!

Is Warne living on borrowed time?

This season is right up the creek!
Three losses in less than two weeks
And even Paul Warne
Is sounding forlorn
And blaming the team when he speaks!
The Rams are now acting so tame
No longer enjoying the game
What used to be fun
Is just tip and run
And hope someone else gets the blame
EFL dropped us in League one
Unfairly when all’s said and done
“We’ll quickly get out!”
You heard us all shout
We Will to league two
Me owd son
My rose coloured glasses have slipped
The lenses are frosted and chipped
The frames are distorted
And cannot be sorted
My confidence level has dipped!
COYR come on you Rams
Stop playing like frightened young lambs
We won’t get downhearted
We’ve only just started
We’ve often got over such jams!
