Harry Kane has been to the Chris Martin School of winning freekicks.

Other than Kane and Southgate, I don't think I could put any other names to faces, or name the club they play for.
Haven't seen a single one of the qualifying games to get to this stage.
I've just dragged my one and only England shirt from the back of the wardrobe... that one that was like a 2-for-1, that can be turned inside out (Must be well over a decade old now?)
I've got two bottles of Europe's finest Pelforth Blonde chilling nicely in the fridge (leftovers from the last two weeks camping in France... Thankyou Intermarché!), and have moved the TV remote to my sofa (#RARE!).
I think I'm just about ready to jump aboard the biannual bandenwagen, look Europe square in the face, and shout "Come on England" until I'm hoarse... or until I nod off, whichever comes soonest!

Come on Eileen is now played at every family get together because Aunty Eileen has passed away. Mum's sister Eileen has a huge family of big drinking sons and grandsons who insist on singing it at full pelt.
The next time will be late August at me cousins Ruby wedding at Marstons Social Club in Burton.
Hopefully, a few pints of excellent Pedigree will ease the pain....

FA Cup under the lights, early 90s. Hanging off the Popside advertising boards as I was too short to see even when stood on a milk crate. A seeming arms length away, the ball goes out wide to Ted McMinn who has space to run at the defenders. The mighty roar goes up along with the hairs on the back of your neck. He beats one man... then two, the wall of noise rising to a deafening crescendo as he whips in the cross...
One can only begin to imagine what the atmosphere was like during the glory days of the BBG when almost twice as many were packed in. I feel incredibly privileged to have been taken there by my Dad and to have experienced some of the last hurrahs of that magical place.

After 6 weeks over here it’s time to go home. Brekkie before a 17 hour flight to Perth then a 41/2 hour flight to Brisbane.

That's because Hampshire has declared itself a ULEZ. Brompton bikes only south of Newbury....😉

The first (main) thing that struck about these cemeteries (firstly the WW1 cemeteries in NE France & Belgium, then later the Normandy cemeteries) were just how pristine and orderly they are. Certainly every one we visited (and not just the Brit cemeteries either). 
The good folk that tend to these graves and graveyards are an absolute credit.
