I referred to the ‘incident’ in another thread. Happened a few rows in front of me and didn’t see what kicked it off.  I’m in the last block that still sits. The block to my left, next to the away fans, is now pretty much standing only; shouldn’t be, but it is.  Feel sorry for fans who bought tickets there assuming it was seating (it has escalated over the last few seasons).   If you are the only person in ‘my’ block who is standing up then you ought to know you’re in the wrong and sit down. Common courtesy, politeness, not being a selfish d-head… it would be nice to think people wouldn’t need to be asked to sit down in an area where clearly everybody else is seated.
Quite happy for people to stand where designated, but hope it doesn’t spread. Sat in my seat since Pride Park opened and it would a shame to move.

Take another look at the highlights. “The keeper” wasn’t “beat”. Wildsmith was right underneath it and pulled his arms down as he could see it wasn’t going in under the bar.

Are you suggesting their miss-hit corner should count as a valid attempt at goal?

That particular “hitting the bar” wasn’t as close as you can get to a goal. It bounced on the top of the bar so it wasn’t heading into the goal.

Everyone who pays for a seat should have the right to watch the match without someone standing up in front of them. A lot of people cannot stand, and children have got no chance of seeing the game. To me the people that block views are very selfish.

Whatever the system there is no excuse for the two early instances he was brushed of the ball, or the amount of time he spends moving
around to areas where he has little effect. Korey Smith has been impressive since he came back from injury.

A few quickfire thoughts from me on todays game:
    - Curtis Nelson might well be the signing of the season. Followed closely by Kane Wilson.
    - Forsyth was good today but I was very surprised that the MoM award didn’t go to either Wildsmith or Cashin. Both kept us in the game at times.
    - We need to begin moving on from Hourihane now. He is just not offering enough and his tracking back is very poor. Thompson and Adams in the middle for me, going forward.
    - Derby fans are great.

Who said it’s better to be lucky than good?
Very pleased with the win obviously and the atmosphere was great (I was super nervous throughout, as I think were the players!).  But blimey we made hard work of it.  Some credit to Bolton too, but we were too frantic.

It took 6 months of moaning to get a tackler in midfield and Adams is it . From where I stood on the South stand we started well for the first 15 minutes. However Cashin sliced clearances  4 times in ten minutes and we began to wobble . In the Prem all those would have ended up in the back of our net . Cashin has to get a lot better on the ball to make a Championship defender .

In theory yes but, in reality not necessarily so. You can’t just rule goals out or add goals in at the end of the game and thus alter the result. Nobody knows how the game would have panned out had Gayle’s goal not been given last night. Maybe we wouldn’t have let our concentration drop and concede. Maybe we’d kept the pressure up and scored by another means.

Never fall in love with a loan player they say. Ebou with another solid performance tonight, completely changed us for the better since he arrived.
What's he worth, what would Cardiff want for him and what could we afford to pay? I think we're in for a long summer thread again!

It's just panto - couldn't give a **** when it was sung at us and happy for people to sing it at Reading - who I believe sang similar at us.   It's a football match not a love-in.

I think with all three key decisions, they are about us putting the pressure on and making a struggling side make a panic. With that you force the officials to make decisions. An attacking ball between the defence and keeper against a high line (and looo how high that defensive line is!) Our press which causes Yiadom to stick a leg out in hope because he’s not positioned correctly. The keeper coming to that area in his box and Gayle having a turn of pace over the last 5 yards to beat him to the ball.
Refs won’t get every decision right but Reading didn’t help themselves because they got themselves in a daft position each time. Some of that is about what Derby did but some of it is down to being daft

Must admit that I didn’t hear any ‘party’ chants from my spot in the East Stand (quite close to the away fans).  I did hear one telling them to “pay their effing bills” which made me laugh (I’m not going to get upset about any hypocrisy in that chant, it was funny!).

Quite enjoyed last night. If we got a bit of luck for once then so what? They had one attempt on goal all night and scored from it; their keeper made a couple of good saves, we hit the post and generally looked the better side. A win was thoroughly deserved.  My only negative was making so many changes straight after the goal which killed the momentum and then we did our usual trick of sitting back for the last 10 which bugs me.
In real time (without the benefit of millions of replays from all angles) both the sending off and penalty looked fair enough to me - but obviously I’m going to be viewing each incident from a Derby perspective. I hope the lad’s second booking was for his stupid over the top reaction as much as the foul. He stormed up to the ref behaving like a petulant child; he deserved a yellow for that. Refs should to be giving cards for this. Not sure why some of our fans want to focus on the ‘negative’ of questionable decisions, rather than the positives of playing pretty well for most of the game. Funny lot who want to say “yeah, we won… but…”.  Always looking for the ‘but’. Odd.
Other observations - agree entirely with the comments about players all going for a drink and team talk when a player goes down injured. Refs shouldn’t be allowing that. At least one occasion last night game was delayed unacceptably waiting for all Reading players to get back in position (why - if they aren’t ready to restart, sod them and just get on with it). Also, keeper going down injured conveniently at a point when we were all over them. Kill time, kill momentum. If you need that much attention, get off the pitch and get a sub on. Glad to see a foul throw given for once. Still about 50% of throw ins are foul throws which aren’t picked up, but that was so much of a foul throw it couldn’t be ignored.
