You make an excellent point and one I have not considered. Although £80m is a little over the top it was valued for that. PP like any other property is only worth what someone is willing to pay irrespective of the valuation. Other clubs supporters are already going on about the 80 v 20m but we do operate in a free market economy.

so and the end of my waffle yes the new owner will make (on paper) money on the deal.
ps let’s hope the administrators told them that………probably not

Can’t wait until the end of the week, when guess what? We still won’t have a preferred bidder.
If Quantuma told me the sun rose this morning, I’d still check.

Lets have a look at Mels track record:
    1.  Takes a sustainable football club thats just failed in the play-offs, to a complete basket case that would be wound up as insolvent in any other business...
    2.  Bad managerial appointments, sacks them costing £10Ms.
    3.  Sacks Rush and ends up settling out of court.
    4.  Sacks Keogh loses in court.
    5.  Takes on the EFL, while I have some sympathy, he handled it all wrong he should of sued EFL for deliberately dragging thier heels.
    6.  Should of dealt with Gibson far sooner.
    7.  Allowed a wage bill of 151% of total income, never going to be sustainable.
    8.  Paid to much in transfer fees and waged for average players.
    9.  Didn't keep an eye on the balance sheet and cut costs far too late.
    Well shrewd.... ?

Why would they, the bids coming in are fair, Morris needs to just throw the ground in and clear the debts to MSD.....
Mel has to do the right thing.

To make any deal viable he needs to throw in the stadium.  Mel do the right thing, you've destroyed the club,at least save it from extinction

Kinda but I think it’s probably complicated and messy.
Lets say Ashley wants to buy the stadium rather than the club (that is my gut instinct anyway but that’s by the by) so he pays off the MSD debt, leaving Appleby to sort the creditors. In the short term, it works and then the club pays a lease to Ashley whilst Ashley does what he wishes with ‘The Pride of Sport Direct Park’ but eventually you’d imagine the club would want the stadium back. The issue with that that it wouldn’t take much to take it away from being a reasonable price for the sell back. The stadium was worth £80 mill before administration, it would be worth around that again and so it would become a huge issue. It doesn’t take much thinking to realise all the scenarios that could occur there.
I think the more sensible outcome, if you were looking at the idea of splitting the bids, would be for the council to buy the stadium from Mel, lease to the club with the idea it would be brought back into the club at a later date.

I've given up hope of anything coming through that rescues the club.
It's about "what" and "how" continues after the final death knell.
It's a poor reward for everything that's been done to save the situation but once we entered administration it was always possible. With debts as high as ours and the legal problems and regulatory problems, the notion that it would be easy to resolve or speed up a change in ownership is pretty absurd.
All that has followed has come from Mel Morris not wanting to pay for his mistakes.

Got to work this morning at 6 to usual football chat with my work mates...one of my West Ham mates said " I think its outrageous that MM can leave the club in loads of debt yet hold the keys to PP!! " In the cold light of day he's absolutely right!!
I really think him having any involvement in what happens to us, our ground,  our future is quite scandalous ...even though he racked up millions in debt he walked away yet still holds major cards regarding our future!!! couldn't make it up.....should never be able to sell a football stadium to seperate it from its club it should never be able to happen?
