Great performance. Constant threat - unlucky not to score a bagfull to be honest.

Wasn't able to catch the 2nd half can someone fill me in on what happened?

In my mind realistically playoffs were the target at the start of the season. We're in 6th place and that's what we're currently fighting for. Heck a lot of people on here were saying top 10 and they'd be happy so the meltdown is a bit embarrassing.
We've dropped off it a little but it happens. The reason it looks bad is because we went on that unbelievable unbeaten run.
We've got a tough game next week but after that we should be able to pick up points. If we don't then we don't deserve playoffs. But I think we can get back on track and do it. Once you're in there it's all up for grabs. No need for all the negativity. We're still in the fight for promotion. COYR.

Peterborough and Ipswich will be really tough.
But provided we don’t lose both, things should still be in our hands.
Even then, we play MK Dons and Burton at home and Forest Green, Exeter and Bristol Rovers away in the five games after that - which are awkward but all winnable if we play anywhere close to how we know we can.
Today was a bitter pill to swallow but we are still in control of our destiny.

You see Warne is dammed if he does, damned if he doesn’t.
Let’s say he had gone 3-5-2 and we lose 1-0 or draw 0-0. People would have said he’s too negative and too cautious.
Again, I think you are being harsh.

Since beating Morecambe at home 5-0, we have won 3, drawn 2 and lost 4. 11 points from 27.
It’s only three points worse than Rosenior’s opening salvo which had us in the top 10 but apparently it’s relegation form?
Let’s not overreact. We’re having a wobble. If we had lost four out of nine and were fully deserving of that, you’d have a point that it’s heading for a meltdown.
However we have fallen on the wrong side of fine margins in several games. We could have beaten Lincoln and Shrewsbury and we could have drawn v Plymouth and Wycombe on another day. Even the same could be said for Barnsley too. Some of those goals were fortuitous in the extreme.
The only result and performance that has been genuinely poor is today’s. We have showed signs of what we are capable of in all other games otherwise.

What would you have done differently?
Bear in mind, we have played midfielders at full back because we have lacked natural full backs of a necessary standard and have been stretched by injuries.
Bear in mind, we played a midfield two of Knight and Hourihane because we have limited options and are restricted in who we can sign. Bird was injured and the other options were White and Sibley, who are young and inexperienced in this position and would not have helped us in a physical battle.

    Peterborough 66 Wycombe 66 Derby 64 Bolton 64
Even if it looked like this at 5pm on April 1st, we would still have 7 games to put things right.
No need to panic. Now if we lose the next three, different story.

    Surprise surprise?
Just before Wycombe away we had won six in a row and were 15 unbeaten.
Just before Wycombe away, the same XI had beaten Morecambe 5-0.
But OK, clearly you know better than the manager.
I think you are being very harsh on Warne and the players.

Didn’t Sibley hit the post and McGoldrick have a winning goal marginally and contentiously ruled out for offside v Lincoln?
Didn’t Dobbin force the keeper into a last gasp save v Shrewsbury? Didn’t we squander chances in the first half to go 3-0 up and put the game out of sight?
On another day, we win both games. I stand by what I said. We’re having a wobble but today is the only really alarming result and performance in this current run.

You’ve been banging the Warne tactics Warne team selection drum for a while now, fair play it’s your opinion. With our small squad we were always going to have a dip. Birds injury was a major factor in us stopping playing through midfield. However that being said, Shrewsbury first half was the best performance of the season and we played through midfield. Plymouth first half was our best away performance of the season and overall we didn’t deserve to lose that game. So performances haven’t all been bad therefore don’t agree with your assessment.
However I didn’t see that coming today. I didn’t think we were capable of that and it’s a huge reality check. I’ve been confident for a long time playoffs are done and dusted, as I had full confidence in our ability to dispatch teams at home and pick up enough points away. However today’s result puts some pressure on the Peterborough game now and we really could do with a response. For the first time since November I don’t feel playoffs are secure. We need to improve - no question.

2014-15 was completely different. We went from 1st in February and looking like the best team in the league to 8th in May.
This season we are going from 4th at our best but still some way off the top two to maybe 7th if we have a poor run in and other teams capitalise.
It’s not the huge drop off you think it is. We have only ever been 2-3 poor results from looking over our shoulders. Promotion has always been an outside chance not a certainty.
I think we could beat all four of those teams if we play well and play to our potential. We have beaten Barnsley and Bolton and competed in tight games with Ipswich, Plymouth and even runaway leaders Wednesday.
It’s up to Warne to find a way to deliver that and time is still on his side. Yet you have written us off in March when there’s still so much life left in the season. You’re making yourself look silly.
