You see , I really enjoyed the boro game , backs to the wall, losing players to injury and grinding out a win that gave us a foothold to build from , I enjoyed it every bit as much as the Bristol game , it’s a season long target🤷🏻‍♂️

The next test, and it'll be a big test, is what happens when we go on a bit of a bad run and lose at home too. We now have Ozoh out, if we go lose tomorrow and then at home to Norwich before away to Sunderland on a Tuesday... things will be looking different for sure and we will need to see how we would react to that.

I think with all of the injuries, Warne will see it as an opportunity to mix things up and take a more defensive approach given Sheff Utd’s attacking quality.
    Zetterstrom
    Nyambe - Nelson - Phillips - Cashin - Elder
    Goudmijn - Adams - Osborn
    Jackson - Yates
I think naturally we’ll be worried about the pace of Rak Sakyi, the technical quality of Hamer and O’Hare, and the presence of Moore, so maybe with this set up, we’ll be better placed to contain them.
The test here is seeing whether we can keep the game competitive and maybe pinch a point, or at the very least keeping the score respectable.

Very encouraged by the start, but it is also only a start. Let’s see where we are in mid-December after another 15-16 games. I think the picture will be a lot clearer at that point when we are discussing our prospects.
We have seven home games (Norwich, QPR, Hull, Plymouth, Swansea, Wednesday, Portsmouth) between now and Christmas. If we can win four or more of them, then we’ll be in a very strong position.
We also have nine away games including trips to Millwall, Stoke, Oxford and Preston, so you would hope we would get some away points on the board sooner or later. It’s really those games that will be telling for our prospects. If we can win two or three, absolutely we’ll be looking up the table.
So much remains to be seen, but there’s definitely a platform there for us to build on.

Well, a wonderful return to Pride Park after 16 months away, shame Ebou couldn't put the cherry on top but no bother!
Particularly impressed watching Goudmijn live, he's going to be some player.
I look forward to returning next year for one of our first games back in the Premier League

I've always said that I pay little heed to preseason games - until I moved nearer to Derby I didn't even go to them.
That said, we've exceeded my expectations so far. I thought 5-6 points would be a very solid start for us to build on, but 9 points from 3 home games and not a single goal conceded sets us up nicely and tells other clubs that a visit to PP will be a tough day out. Now, if we could just get our away tally going with a point in one of the next two games and be competitive in both games I think that would set us up perfectly for the season.

Jourdan got a reaction from Hector was the best in Ebou'ts It Wide
In fairness, Ebou is not in the team to score breakaway goals. It’s not a familiar situation where you can rely on muscle memory or instincts.
Had it been Mendez Laing, Harness or Jackson, they would have been more comfortable in that scenario and it’s 2-0 and game over.
It’s not always easy to get right. You have an open goal and the Cardiff defence chasing back trying to create pressure or a distraction and there’s always a chance you can lose your footing trying to race clear.
For me, it’s a good one to miss. It shows we are doing something right as we have the ability to force mistakes and be a threat on the break at any time.

Absolutely buzzing with the win, even hours later. Here’s hoping there will be more celebratory fist pumping and derrière slapping during the weekly shop in Tesco as the winter sets in!
Three wins from five, back to back to back home wins, a spot in the top half, a positive goal difference, some signs of good football developing, breathing space to the bottom three, and a good platform for us to build on in the autumn and the winter. What’s not to like?
I have to admit I was a bit fearful for us after such a poor pre-season and then Blackburn away, but we have responded ever so well since and you can see Warne and the staff behind the scenes are really starting to show how shrewd they are.
They deserve massive plaudits! We look like a real team with everyone playing their part and fighting for the cause. If you look at the performances of Yates, Jackson, Kenzo, JWZ, Nyambe and Elder in particular, the recruitment team and the coaching staff must be feeling ten feet tall.
It’s still a long season ahead of course and we still have tests to pass and lessons to learn. Warne and the players will need us when we hit a slump, for instance.
But if the first five games are anything to go by, everyone at the club is pulling in the same direction and will leave everything out there to make us proud. Let’s stick with them.

    Watching Hull v Sheff Utd.
Hull have worked hard but there is a bit of naivety about them. They have played some neat football at times but Sheff Utd have been happy to wait and pounce.
Sheff Utd have had 35% possession, scored twice on the break, pressed well and forced mistakes, and defended with composure when needed.
It goes to show that maybe Warne’s ideas are not that outdated, but maybe it’s a case of better teams being able to execute it more effectively. This is a classic Warne performance from Sheff Utd.

Another decent performance.  The movement of the midfield and attack was superb.  And some of the link up play involving Yates was so quick, one touch football.  Kenzo, what a quality player.  For all the talk or Warne wanting athletes, he blows that myth out of the water.
Losing Ozoh disrupted us and we lost midfield a bit in the 2nd half.  At that point I’d have brought Phillips on instead of Osbourne.  We’d have had a bit more flexibility to stay the same or go to a back 3.  That said, I wasn’t worried.  The team look so well organised without the ball that the opposition are largely restricted to passing sideways and long range efforts.  And then they still have to get past JWZ.  I think the team have confidence in him and that allows them to play without fear of losing the ball.

Really positive start - loving Kenzo,Ozoh and Ebou in the middle. Such a shame Ozoh injured although the unpunished constant fouls on him means wasnt surprising. His obvious dejection good sign of his commitment. Kenzo excellent signing - well done recruitment team. In second half he was running down the wing into the corner right near us and how he just read it and checked for a second to just beat the defender giving himself space was so simple but just classy.

Their fans were most rubbish have seen at PP for yonks. Why bother coming if you're not going to support the team? Ref was just awful. However, sat away from our normal seats in west lower near south stand and some fans just randomly shouting abuse at the linesman from the start before he did anything. Do some people sit there just so they can do that? Bizarre.

Yep such a good post! Listen to Elder’s post match interview it sums up how good it is to be playing in this team, for this management team and in front of these fans. Thought the crowd was excellent again today, whole ground joining with the south stand and so good to be hearing positive supportive chant/songs on the whole. The post match ovation for Ebou was fantastic, something special. I was excited going to PP today and elated coming away and I believe this is just the start. There will be losses but boy it won’t be because of a lack of effort or togetherness on the part of this team.
