Are the ghosts in there victims of their food ?

I know it's not strictly within the city limits but The Melbourne in Melbourne is excellent. Food is top notch and it's got a nice laid back atmosphere. Plus you can look out the window and watch people struggle to withdraw cash from the cash machine across the road as it's only two feet off the ground. Strange but enjoyable...

The one I really recommend is Morley Hayes dovecote... been there a few times and it is really nice food, limited choice but all food is done very well. I've been Anoki as well, not worth the 70 odd quid the bill came too in the end but still decent. The mexican place that took over New Orleans down on Pride Park, went there and wouldn't go again wasn't very impressed. I have always liked Harvester for what it is, and Nandos but getting your own drink is annoying but these are relatively cheap places. I went TGI fridays not in Derby, but in Wycombe not to long ago and thought that to be really expensive for what it is, my dinner(admitted I went the full whack as I was on works expenses 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> ) came to 32 pound just for me, really thought that to be excessive for what I'd class as average food.

And a curve ball, the steak at Walkabout is beautiful (although I haven't been in a while) but been a few times and steak was perfect all but one time where it came quite rare. I go out quite a bit around Derby eating, and Nottingham too... must say, there isn't too much to write home about or maybe I'm going to the wrong places

casino one i dont rate me missus took me there for my birthday had a £35 steak medium and to say it was chewy and tough was an understatement.

again setting and presentation were okay

This is somewhat random, but as a student of meat science I was curious. Do ya'll have some sort of quality grade system over there like Select, Choice, Top Choice, Prime?

  • 7 months later...

Well, had a curry in the Shalamar on Midland road Derby on Sat night and got the shites.

My mate had the same choice and has also had a visit from a flock of starlings. He told me today.

So, make yer own mind up.

It wouldn't have been the beer on the Leo Sayer I doubt?
