Sick Doughty chants

Recommended Posts

There was a few chants of "You wanted him out, you got what you wanted", hardly sick just stating a fact that they hounded him out of the club after all the money he invested. They chanted about Barker first. Stop being so flippin outraged, it wasn't as sick as them chanting about Commons kid, get over your righteous selves, yawn.

This was chanted along the walk to the ground by a few hundred Derby who were baiting the Forest escort. It was tribalism that was common in the 70's. Not big or clever but it happens. The self righteous forest should have a word with themselves over Commons' chants.

When it started during the game not that many joined in. The louder chant was about the forest fans wanting him gone, you got want you want.

Again, bad taste but nowt worse than i've heard from the nice friendly people in notts over the years.

I can't honestly say I heard anything at all clearly, so disagree with the 'significant section' comment. Maybe a minority of fans compared to the total of rams fans would be nearer the mark.

Chants of that nature serve absolutely no purpose, it's just a twisted way to get one-upmanship. It's vile, cruel and unnessesary.

Whoever did it really needs to grow up and think before they open their mouths. They really have no excuse.

In fairness as I was in the corner, the majority from what I saw were engaged in it in the corner. Not around the stadium but where I was there weren't many who didn't participate.

I was in the east corner and it was sang, but when barker is on the floor n they chanting one Chris Cohen and let him die!! Derby fans retaliated yes but in a Way they were defending there own though not acceptable!!!

I saw a derby fan get clouted by one of his own today twice for complaining about it saying it was sick!!

I'm glad I didn't really hear it YR - I was too deafened by the din in the NE corner and NS. It was great up there.

Loudest chant of the night my arse. Anything sung about Nigel Doughty was in bad taste but lets not exaggerate and pretend this was being done by the majority of our fans. Did you come and post on here after your fans had baited Kris Commons about his dead baby? No I thought not, so don't come on here slating Derby fans now.

As for Derby fans on here saying we should be fined or punished, don't be so silly. This sort of thing goes on in grounds up and down the land week in week out. Not saying I agree with it but unfortunately it is part of some peoples mentality to bait.

It was a great atmosphere tonight but what annoys me is that less than 1,000 ****** have basically a) put a wet blanket on a night we should all be celebrating and 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> have possibly massively damaged the reputation of our fan base and club. The chants made me feel embarrassed and ashamed, the only reason I said nothing was simply because it would have been futile, these people lost sight of what football is, A GAME. Still we have beaten the red dogs twice in one season for the first time since before I was born.

Sick and should be dealt with accordingly.

Blown out of proportion though, doesnt help Forest fans crying their eyes out over it either, 2 months ago some of them did want him dead. Hipocrits!

Soon to forget their own sick chants.

Didn't hear it myself but plenty of other people did.

Absolutely disgusted. It brings shame on the club, and being Derby fan it tarnishes me by association.

It's cast a cloud over a great result for me.

And it doesn't matter if the same might have been sung by Forest or anyone else in a reverse situation. It's wrong, it's disgusting, it's thoroughly disrespectful. I'm sickened by it to be honest.

I am afraid to say that I was sat down the front the near the score board and it was more than clear, not just "a few idiots" by any stretch. It is not acceptable but it happens a lot- " you should have died in the tunnel", Commons baby, Maxwell, busby babes etc etc. It will be blown out of all proportion- especially by Forest but they can't complain about it too much as they are culprits too. TBF, on their forums a few posters are saying the same thing. General hatred between the two clubs and you hope that we are above such things......but we aint

Yes we have our fair share of ****** and I neve stated it was a majority. It was however a significant minorities. Your own fans that sat in that corner will tell you of they're being honest that most there did join in with the chants. It happens at every club but I have never seen it on such a large scale.

Its a shame that it took Mr Doughty's death for you to appreciate what he'd given you. And on this occasion, it has taken sick chanting for him to be praised by you. Well news for you, you're too late. You had a gem of a chairman and you should have praised him when he was alive, you just have to live with the fact that you did the complete opposite. Trying to ignore what you did, and then shift everything onto Derby, isn't going to work. You made his life miserable while he was alive. And thats what counts.

lets not get all gay about this, remember you are pandering to the moral highground forest fans who:

chanted about an ex-players miscarriage

directed abuse at Clough Jnr "you're **** but your dad was good", not very nice when he's the son of your only ever decent manager is it?

backed the Poison Dwarf over the 'Nigel kicked me in the playground' crap

and get real, who knows what stress and hassle Doughty was under due to the crap he was receiving from the very same red dogs

I heard the chants, did'nt join in but certainly aint going to criticise them and fuel this ridiculous typical forest response

maybe they and their kind are better off down in the lower leagues, whilst beating them is bloody fantastic and the atmosphere was nearly BBG'esque tonight but are they really worth the bother?
