Hucknall Ram
McCLAREN IN FOREST SWIPE | Football Transfer News, Football News, Fixtures, Results, Match Reports, Stats Former Nottingham Forest boss Steve McClaren has hit out at the Championship side's lack of ambition. McClaren stepped down in October after just 112 days in charge at the City Ground, with Forest lying fourth from bottom in the Championship. They are now in the relegation zone, two points from safety, and bowed out of the FA Cup on Tuesday following a 4-0 third round defeat by Midlands rivals Leciester. McClaren, back in his second spell at FC Twente, said: "I went to Forest expecting one thing and I left because they couldn't deliver it and they are still now a long way away. It was the wrong club on both sides. "There was a distinct lack of ambition and I don't think there's any money now. They haven't spent a lot." Current boss Steve Cotterill has confirmed there are no funds available, saying: "If you can't afford to sign players, what's the answer when you have half your back four injured? "We have to tough it out and try to get players back fit quickly." http://www.sportinglife.com/football/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/12/01/19/manual_093201.html&BID=

The Scarlet Pimpernel
Makes me laugh people like McClaren saying "No money". Well welcome to the future of Football. Good manages will be judged on their ability to spot up and coming players and motivate their squads not merely be cheque book managers.

Guest
Course he is....!! He is a great manager, just sold down the river at the red dogs. Yep, what he did at Twente and Middlesbrough was unmatched in their history, but maybe they are a bit far away for some people to know about 'http://www.dcfcfans.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
Ambitious
Steve McClaren doesn't know the championship whatsoever and his signings at Forest tell me he doesn't know the english game any more. He spunked money and complained about not having more, 18 thousand a week on Miller? completely clueless.. Forest would of been MUCH MUCH better with a lower league manager who isn't used to paying ridiculous salaries that the club can't afford! His time at Forest was dreadful, their team is massively over-rated read today from kenny burns 'one of the best squads in the division' absolute horses *****! Smyth_18
Cockerill was very quick to point out OD was part of his back room staff. Seemed a bit childish. Biggest kid in the playground kind of thing.

Biggest kid in the playground kind of thing. I think you'll find that he's the scaredest kid in the playground...having your replacement grinning at you everyday waiting for you to get the sack can't be a very nice situation...I just hope another club comes in for SOD before Cotternil gets canned or Forest might not get relegated.
