RotherhamRam Posted April 3, 2011 Share Posted April 3, 2011 I have been trawling through the net and I have come across the follwoing IN Steve Foster - Rb Barnsley ex-captain DJ Campbell - Swap deal for Steven Davies Lee Johnson - Ex-loanee last season Sergio Peter - left midfielder Billy Sharp - striker Ambrose - midfielder Michael Brown - midfielder (CONTRACT DISPUTE AT PORTSMOUTH) James Coppinger - attacking midfielder St ledger -defender Frank Fielding - GK Glenn Murray - striker Out Steve Davies ranging from £400k-£1million and a swap deal for DJ Campbell Ben Davies - to be resigned for what we paid for him Now in respect of players in like the looks of Foster and St Ledger and Fielding for defence. For me add Billy Jones. Midfielders would love to see Brown come who is in contract dispute with Portsmouth and Coppinger or Johnson and Billy Sharp with Glenn Murray coming up front. That is 8 players and if the two above left for these to come in think that is a fair deal. This is all speculation and a lot depends on other clubs but in some of these Billy Sharp, Foster, Johnson, and Coppinger may cost money others may be freebies not sure. The others will go to better clubs or we couldn't afford them. You're talking at least a million for Ambrose alone and I imagine Brown is on at leat £25k at Portsmouth. Hahahaha......That is a very valid point. The fact we having publicly stated our intent to buy and build means we will be linked with MANY names. So I think that leaves Frank Fielding as both realistic and desirable. About right. Out of interest, RotherhamRam, where did you come across the James Coppinger link? I've said him for a couple of seasons now, EVERY time he has played against us he has been brilliant, bar one mistake when he was at norwich (think it was norwich) very VERY good defender..
