Rampant Posted April 20 Share Posted April 20 1Wildsmith.....bit flappy and one led to a fine save, one great pass and several awful ones..... 6.5 35Nelson.....nuts and bolts CB..... 7 5Bradley......very good in an ungainly way..... 7.5 6Cashin.....my player of the season..... 7.5 2Wilson.....wears his socks too high..... 6.5 7Barkhuizen.....no time to make impact..... 6 12Smith.....not overly involved..... 6.5 32Adams.....industrious with a couple of excellent moments..... 7 17Sibley.....excellent assist and threatened going forward. Tidy defensively bar the obligatory yellow for a rash challenge..... 8 (MOTM) 16Thompson.....my favourite player. Got forward well in support and quick tidy feet on more than occasion..... 7 8Bird 🦅 .....great to see him back and hopefully can make his mark in his farewell appearance next week..... 6.5 9Collins.....numerous fine moments and tidy throughout. Unsung hero today for my money..... 7.5 11Méndez-Laing.....back on the scoresheet with the help of their keeper - why do goalies do that? angieram Posted April 21 Share Posted April 21 1Wildsmith 6 - great saves but erratic kicking, not helped by a forward standing on him and an erratic wind 35Nelson 7.5 - unflappable 5Bradley 7.5 - his sort of game - headed it, kicked it 6Cashin 8 - puts his body on the line time and again 2Wilson 7 - needed to be a bit more confident in attack; works hard 7Barkhuizen 6 - didn't notice him at all, sorry! 12Smith 5 in midfield, where he was a bit anonymous, but 7 at wing-back so an average of 6 32Adams 6.5 - first game he's looked a bit rattled 17Sibley 8 - looked a threat every time he went forward, still put in a defensive shift 16Thompson 6.5 - worked really hard, struggled with some of the head-tennis! 8Bird 🦅 6 - looked classy on the ball, but a bit too far off the frenetic pace to make a decent contribution 9Collins 7 - worked hard defensively but we need you in the box, James! 11Méndez-Laing 8 - put in a great shift, as demonstrated by the fantastic tackle in Cambridge's first attack. Poor kicks could’ve been due to high wind 35Nelson 8……body on the line. Heroic. 5Bradley 8……see Nelson. And he made sure he was winning headers rather than wrestling, falling over and trying to win free kicks 6Cashin 8….see Nelson 2Wilson 6…..not his finest game. Tried to make things happen but got caught faffing around a couple of times 7Barkhuizen 6….the man for the counter attack. Got in position A for a second but NML too knackered to pick him out 12Smith 5….23 touches in CM. Broke up play in first half, didn’t really see him in the second. 32Adams 6…..very good and involved in the first half. Less of a factor in the second 17Sibley 8…..pass of the season…..and very good all round. Not phased by the yellow card 16Thompson 7……good ratting and gets awkward balls under control and where he wants it to be like a Prem player 8Bird 🦅 6…..OK. Good to see him back 9Collins 7.5……lived on scraps, worked his socks off, held the ball up well and linked well. Not a goal threat but no service 11Méndez-Laing 8……almost back to great form. Never hides a massive shift for the team 10Waghorn 6…..no time Attwell 10….faultless Very good first half, lovely 3 points, horrible 2nd half. Strange post match from PW. Bemoaning the fact that we had no control but didn’t really change tactics or personnel. Everything was a long hoof in the second half……orders? Panic? No options? I like Smith and he works hard to get in good defensive positions but he barely touches the ball……you have to have someone who is brave enough to get on the ball (Hourihane) and tactics to use them to get control - but you then sacrifice something else.
