Worrying issue here is their transfer window is currently open

It would only be worrying if he was out of contract this summer and could force us in to getting something now rather than nothing in the summer.

We have full control of the situation with him having over 2 years left on his contract and there is absolutely no way Derby let him go at this point when he’s often carried us through games and won points on his own.

I can’t even see him leaving next season unless we’re offered daft money.

Obviously there is pretty much no such thing as a footballer who is immune to a good offer but he seems like a player who is really enjoying his football and the obvious great relationship with the fans. When he interviews he seems quiet, modest and humble and seems like the sort who needs to feel wanted by club and fans, not just looking for a bigger pay cheque.

Gut feeing is that we don't need to worry for now and I think it it would take a really significant offer for him personally to move. The MLS as his last move at some point perhaps but not right now when he is in a promotion chase. If we fall flat and face another year in this division then that might be a different story in the summer of course. Also, with him well in contract, we'd have to be offered something that we simply couldn't refuse to consider selling our most potent threat with bucket-loads of goal contributions this season. Why would we do that with so much at stake.

But he's attributed his recent form to being able to live locally with his family, hasn't he?

Time for MLS when he's finished here.

Family definitely a big factor for him. He said how much his daughter loves Rammie when he re-signed. Can't see him going anywhere for the foreseeable.
