Archied
anybody else have concerns around track and tracing? I don’t ness mean around privacy issues but rather if and how it can work without turning into a shambles , listening to question time last night and the gov minister sounding clueless on important questions about how it will work coupled with reading stuff and common sense thinking I have concerns, he was asked if someone reports symptoms ( untested ,could be anything or even nothing given the fear and hyper sensitivity we feel) and you have been near them you have to go into two week self isolation then wait further for test ( around three week total), do your family then also have to isolate with you , do we have people with genuine fears reporting symptoms so as not to have to work , do we have the lazy ( yes there are lots) doing same , do we have the down right idiots reporting to cause problems ( yep plenty of those types too) , are people forced to isolate if they have been near someone reporting symptoms even if not confirmed with test? I can see this turning into a nightmare don’t get me wrong ,I’m not anti on privacy issue grounds if it was efficient and worked but I do fear it’s not been thought through fully and may be unworkable in this country

They are open at 8am and some days are tooling up a couple of hours later despite staff and tests being available because there are no referrals. My daughter works for the NHS and works closely with a care home a few miles from the Proact and the care staff are being sent to Leicester or Lincoln for testing Yes, that was our experience, too. It can't be right but is yet another example of the bureaucracy that prevents efficiency within the system. Making someone who is already feeling pretty ill drive 50 miles for a test and the Government is wondering why they aren't meeting their testing targets. It just sounds like hell. he has been sedated after becoming agitated. whilst everyone skips off into the bank holiday weekend and looks forward to an end to lockdown, maybe this can be a timely reminder of the risks and potential consequences of contracting this horrible disease. Be sure to remind him the statistics say it's probably no worse than the flu. That'll cheer him up a bit.

I can see this turning into a nightmare don’t get me wrong ,I’m not anti on privacy issue grounds if it was efficient and worked but I do fear it’s not been thought through fully and may be unworkable in this country On your note about people taking advantage, it clearly does happen, it has where i work certainly. They can do this now though, they don't need an app to do it. The idiots that report issues to cause problems, my understanding is if someone claims to have symptoms it flags as a warning, but if you have tested positive you get a code to enter so it flags as a red warning. I would hope that if someone logs a report to cause problems, that if they are then out and about with their phone within the 14 days that somehow this can be picked up by the authorities and they come down hard on them, lets face it if you are stupid enough to do it for a bit of fun then you probably will carry on carrying your phone with you. I do think some people will do this, but surely its going to be the minority that do, if enough download it surely, and lets face it the majority of us aren't oxygen thieving scumbags, it will help it work. I think with regards to isolating if you have been near someone, you have to be have been shown as being near them long enough to make it a danger, i think the scientific advice is 15 minutes or so if within 2 meters? I am sure you are right, there are lots of questions, but there are people and countries all round the world working on this, and if it will work in one country then the UK should be no different. I will download it, although while I am shielding won't do me much good mind, but i will encourage all family members to who aren't, although my mum and dad will probably download spotify by mistake mind. I'd say lets give it a go, and hope the minds working on it have a better grasp on it than we do.

So, are you advocating that he "sneaks out to the Co-Op", despite him apparently being at greater risk of contracting the virus than the majority of us? As if the only thing that could go wrong is him "being caught sneaking out"? ... or am I totally misunderstanding your posts? ?♂️

Norman
I have my test at 10.30 today in Grantham..... Does it tell you if you've had it, or just if you have it now or not? 48 hours to 5 days wait for the results. Seems like a waste of time really.
