He was never going to make the starting XI this weekend if he signed this week anyway. Would be good to get him in asap so he can get integrated into the training sessions and be available as early as possible. The most exciting transfer we've had for a while, I hope if we get him that he lives up to the hype.

Best thing for any new transfers in at the moment is the low chance of getting booed off after one bad performance and let that set the tone for the rest of their DCFC career. ?

I wouldn't be happy with that. We need a better/different option up front than what we currently have. Maddison plays in an area where we have a lot of options already.

I also think Byrne isn't part of the 3 being talked about last week. Cocu seemed to indicate that there would be three attacking signings. Byrne seems to be a cheap replacement at RB where we need more cover now Bogle has gone. If we sign Jozwiak and Byrne this week then I'd still expect us to be looking to get a striker and another wide player in. Only names linked in media so far for these positions are Roberts and Grandsir.

The wigan player is Bryne, I’m guessing that’s why

Yeah I get that - my point is when you notice it on first glance and see double signing imminent, most people will be drawn straight to seeing H Wilson, that’s why I’m saying it’s Sly. I’m sure there are thousands of images of Byrne they could of used.

To those saying you wouldn't put Jozwiak straight in.... why not?

I get that he won't "know" the set up/players/way of playing, BUT... he was Polands best player in 2 international games less than a week ago, and our best alternative in his position is Morgan Whittaker, who (and this is no slight on Morgan) isn't of Kamil's quality.

You don't have to worry about match fitness, and gelling with other players will come just as well from playing as from training... it's not like the players are likely to be socialising much at the minute...

I could maybe understand Byrne not coming straight in (Wisdom is a fine RB), but if you've signed a clear upgrade, then you play them.

I’d have him straight in, when the other options are out of position players like Whittaker and Knight. Or a not fully fit Holmes. Yeah he may not know the side, but beat your full back, get balls in the box and jobs a good un.

We could actually be signing players that actually play and we may never get to see them play live before they get sold !

I can see the supposed 3rd signing being Maddison, just have this feeling.

Time for you to make a doctors appointment ?

I think this would depend on the formation he plays, from what I have read Byrne is not great defending so sounds like he could play as a wing back whereas Wisdom is more likely to play in a four at the back because his strength is defending and not attacking. Good options to have.

Byrne has the 3rd most crosses blocked and the most shots blocked of any RB in the division last year, so I’m sure he has some defensive pedigree!

Absolutely and Gareth Roberts was one of our better full backs in recent times as well and he was tiny
