jimbo jones
1 over was managed and that was it. Keep the rain coming and take the draw at this point for definite.

Grumpy Git
Currently 193/6. we need a deluge worthy of the ark all day tomorrow otherwise we could be following-on.

It will be interesting if we lose the last 4 wickets quickly though. Will Yorkshire have a quick slog and put us back in? And will they give us a sniff of winning the game? Dont think they need to set a target anymore than 250, if that.
Grumpy Git
I thought the follow-on target in CC was 150 runs not 200? Edit; just read the rules so I stand corrected it is indeed 200, (I'm not sure why though)?

rammieib
We need to bat out as long as possible. All bonus points critical.

jimbo jones
No play yet due to rain, hopefully we get a couple of hours in to try and get a couple of bonus points.
jimbo jones
First bonus point gaines, Dal & Critchley still at the crease, 227-6, 250 looks attainable, a push for 300?
jimbo jones
270-6 fifties for both Critchley and Dal who are still there.
jimbo jones
Reached 300 and called it a day, Critchley out in the 60’s with Dal unbeaten on 78 staking his claim to stay in the team. the result keeps us top by 3 points from Yorkshire with 2 games to play. Grumpy Git
Yorks 15pts, Derbyshire 13pts. I would have taken that result all day long before we had faced a ball after Yorkshire's declaration. ? https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/19880/scorecard/1227607/yorkshire-vs-derbyshire-north-group-bob-willis-trophy-2020

I didn’t hold much hope we’d still be top of the group at that point.
Grumpy Git
Quote from the ESPN Cricinfo site: Quote It was Derbyshire's first ever seventh-wicket century stand achieved in matches at Headingley. I wonder if they are still smarting from us pipping them to the Div 2 title a few years ago? Only the two top scoring teams from the three leagues meet in the Lords final. Bit of a sickener if you finish top and still don't qualify! ?
sage
We have Durham (bottom) next and Yorks (2nd) have Lancs (3rd). We have Lancs in the last game.
AndyinLiverpool
Can I just publicise the fact that Warwickshire blagged the most outrageous draw ever today. It cheered me up no end.
