Who cares anyway about a Lords final if fans aren’t allowed. Doesn’t count if you can’t see it. That’s what I’m telling myself. Pitch was very damp the 1st 2 days, it’s now dried out, and is easier too bat on....that’s the theory anyway. Godleman out already.
Reverend
Oh dear. Another poor batting display.
jimbo jones
Disappointing end to what has been a really good campaign.
Carnero
Still finished joint 5th in the overall standings. Not a bad effort from one of the paupers of county cricket.
jimbo jones
It looked to be business as usual as Derbyshire managed just 147-8 off 20 overs. But some brilliant bowling from Critchley and Cohen, and by Melton who with Leicestershire needed 10 off the last over, bowled brilliantly to concede just 5 singles, and the last ball was a dropped catch, so it should have been 4 and a wicket. Those 3 are big pluses from this season for me, Cohen & Melton didn’t come here ass the finished article, but both have pace and potential. Critchley meanwhile is slowly becoming a very good cricketer. He recently signed a new 2 year contract which is great news, as theres plenty of clubs who I’m sure would like him. jimbo jones
97-0 against Yorkshire in the last game of the season a superb half century from Tom Wood, who’s still going, and showed everyone how to bat in the power play. Where have we been hiding him all season?
jimbo jones
Matt Critchley was named player of the year, and was also named in the Wisden under 24 team of the Bob Willis Trophy. Great recognition for a very good short season, hopefully he can kick on even more, in hopefully a full season next year.
