I parked in Derby Arena for first time so walked past the Leeds fans coming out. Seems a bit odd that the away fans have their separate path before reaching the road where it's packed with both sets of fans.

Exactly the same when we played Leicester a couple of years ago - away fans escorted along the path and then let loose at the point where there are the most home fans - and not surprisingly, trouble near the Audi Garage - Derbyshire police are hopeless when it comes to keeping the fans segregated.....yesterday they stood and watched a large group winding people up and showed no inclination to "keep the peace" - in fact, it seemed that most were simply waiting for trouble to start so they could wade in with the batons....

Perhaps as a so called intelligent species we should be able to cope with people who support an opposition team sitting near us without wanting to tear their limbs off.

Surely that depends on how they act when they are sitting there.

If they are being morons and goading the home fans i would just expect the stewards to deal with, i still wouldn't want to beat them to a pulp

If they celebrate a goal, thats ok.

I thought the whole idea of the lack of Leeds escort to, and from the ground was a joke by the police trouble was destined to happen. Stewards are just jobs worths anyway, would rather just eject someone for boozing in the stand or sitting in the wrong seat than get down to the nitty gritty.

Stewards are part of the reason that theres less bother in stadiums.

1. They cost the club less than police,

2. They are less inflammatory than the police, and can resolve situations in a friendlier manner.

God forbid they actually enforce the rules of boozing in the stand or making sure people are in the correct seats.

I dont know how old you are, but back in the day a large police presence in the ground meant an uneasy atmosphere.

Look at when clubs go abroad and get baton charged in the ground by the local police force. Do you want to go back to that?

That's all well and good, but how many Derby fans missed out on tickets because of them? I know I wouldn't be happy if I missed a match because away supporters got tickets in the home end before me.

Yes i agree with that point. I still don't think they deserve a good kicking though.

I meant the one bragging leeds fan saying got tickets in the home ends.

If they did this it would stop trouble inside the ground.

I know,  it's just difficult to police.

Well for me any away fans should been turned away before they even entered the stadium.

Not so easy when they dont wear colours, if you were walking down the street and everyone wearing normal.clothes could you tell what team they supported....

I do think they cancelled some as there were random tickets popping up all over the place, but there will always be a few that slip.through....

Your critical of our fans and stewards yet @Angieram has told you the Leeds fan was throwing punches so he deserves what he gets.Perhaps you shouldn’t comment when your not even sitting in the north stand and not aware of the actual facts before you post.As for your further posts you sound like a spoilt child

So just because he was throwing punches, that means our fans should throw punches back? Whatever happened to "being the bigger person".... I assume that you wouldnt care if you then got arrested for punching said away fan and therefore received a ban.....

If it stops away fans in the home end the yes, reasonable force should be used. I feel football violence is back on the rise and the reason so, is that the working class man has had enough and needs to let off steam.
