i-Ram
Sad to just learn that Pete has passed away. Big fan of the Buzzcocks, and it is a shock that l won’t see him perform again. Great memories of numerous gigs over the years. ariotofmyown, Inverurie Ram, GB SPORTS and 3 others 1 1
AndyinLiverpool
Many years ago, I was invited back to a young lady's house to listen to Buzzcocks records. Happy memories. Thanks, Pete. Norman, i-Ram and GB SPORTS 2

BaaLocks
Nobody, and I mean nobody, wrote stories of unrequited love like Pete Shelley. His three minutes anthems are like lines through my life. Saw them as recently as last summer, they were still as truly brilliant as ever. You'll be missed. ariotofmyown and GB SPORTS

Olaf Penge
Saw them at Queen Street in 1978 supported by the Slits. Buzzcocks were great, not sure that Ari Up and the girls were anything but cacophony that night though! GB SPORTS

I can only recall 3 celebrity deaths that impacted me to any extent. Or at leats negatively. Comedian, Greg Giraldo (not known over here, but Google Midlife Vices if you want the best stand up set ever delivered), Robin Williams and Pete Shelley. All were known for being really nice and caring people as well as incredible artists. The Buzzcocks were the best band I ever saw live and my only regret is that I only saw them once, way back in 1979. Everybody's Happy Nowadays often gets overlooked as a classic Buzzcocks track and was panned at the time because it was so much less commercial than Ever Fallen in Love With, but it's up there with any of them. I know it cooler to like the Spiral Scratch era stuff, but Love Bites was (imho) one of the greatest pop/punk albums ever made.
