Bob The Badger
No fake or post-punk - has to be from The Ramones to maybe 1985. Pistols Stranglers Clash 999 The Undertones Buzzcocks Eater Siouxsie The Damned UK Subs The Ruts The band I saw more than any other was The Jam (5 or 6 times) but still don't think of them as truly punk. My top 5. The energy is amazing for this one Best intro ever, EVER! Not very well known over in the UK, but outstanding punk. I could have had my entire top 5 from The Stranglers, but this will do. The best band I ever saw live without the aid of drugs or alcohol and who were unashamedly pop. Way before 'Ever fallen in Love With' and way better. MrsRam
I was on the young side when the punk scene emerged, my brother was older, so I just heard all his 'records' proper vinyl and my favourite band then were the clash - looking back, I liked Mick Jones singing, better than Joe Strummer, they were more melodic, I think and my two favourites were;
