After the Briston gig, when the police weren't to happy about them playing? I didn't see then in that era but I managed to see them about 10 years ago. About the same time I also managed to see the Subhumans.
Bob The Badger
The beautiful think about punk is that is was never about the music. Sex Pistols - rock band with anger The Clash - a hybrid of reggae, ska, punk and wtf they were into at the time The Stranglers - a mid 70's band using an electric organ ffs! The Buzzcocks - Pop - just pure Pop - but with menace The Jam Angry Who wannabes leading into the Mod scene The Ramones - Just classic leather wearing rock band UK Subs - Old rockers trying to stay relevant with a lead singer who was older than my dad And @Lambchop posted Motorhead who most people would think, wtf, they aint punk - but they certainly were in many respects. It was all to do with attitude. It wasn't a type of music other than the driving guitar they most had, it was pure unadulteretaed FU attitude. Bob The Badger
Nobody has mentioned these three classic punk bands. Lydon sure loved a deep bassline to grab people's attention.

Shipley Ram
I've posted this eldewhere but I love this failure to go along with the mime, apart from the keyboard player who plays the straight man.

JoetheRam
Whilst maybe not technically punk to those great arbiters of the "You ain't punk" movement, Cliff had it in his soul. You can tell.

Mainly went to see the support acts but Motorhead were very entertaining, even my wife, complete with ear protectors, enjoyed it. As for best track, Hmmmm, will depend on what mood I'm in, but other bands not mentioned so far; Anti Nowhere League : So What rooster Sparrow : England Belongs To Me Angelic Upstarts : Shot Gun Solution

richinspain
From their more mainstream period, but one of my favourite Stranglers songs. Hugh Cornwell’s vocals are brilliant.
