Ellafella
Anybody else notice that the pitch had been shrunk a few metres width wise and length wise. Seems that Mr Grayson may have been concerned that his direct style of play need a helping hand... Thoughts?
Hollybush
Maybe we'll be altering our pitch too then ?
Igorwasking
I didn't notice it - but the commentator did point it out...
toddy
Wasnt it something to do most of the Sunderland players had been on the pop to much over the summer and their fitness was an issue hence dropping the the pitch by a couple of yards off the lenght and width of the pitch. 1of4
Sunderland have been on a cost cutting exercise since relegation. One of them is saving on the amount of white paint used to mark the pitch.
Ewe Ram
They need a better groundsman. You could still see the old lines

Parsnip
@Ellafella you 'noticed' that sunderland's pitch was smaller than last season? That's some next level spectatorship.

RamNut
Scientists predict that within 10 years the pitch will have shrunk to the size of a tennis court.
sage
Now they have changed it, it has to stay like that all season. You can't mark it out differently to compete against different opponents.
WystonRam
Noticed our pitch is significantly narrower than last season, at the Hoffenheim game.
Van der MoodHoover
Sunderland, being one of the strongly pro-Brexit places in the UK, have clearly instructed the groundsman to read all the dimensions as good old English yards. None of those funny foreign metric measures for them!

Its all to do with closing down the opposition and not being concerned about being closed down yourself because as soon as you are you are going to launch it.
