Todays stats - Games per goal

I looked at all Derby players in 'the modern era' and picked out those who had played 10 league games or more, including loans.

This is a list of all players with a 'games per goal' ratio of 4 or better.

Three current players feature with Ince surprisingly better than Martin (due to Ince's prolific and Martin's lean loan spells).

Maybe Lee Mills deserves more credit ....

Interesting list that. Usually lists of stats and decimal points make me wan to throttle myself with the nearest loose wire, but this is food for thought. 

Mills' record is surprisingly good, I don't remember him being that prolific. He was only here for a short time as I remember, I didn't really rate him, and couldn't have seen him sustaining it. Scored a couple of cracking goals though. One against Wolves sticks in the mind ... a header, and a victory which led to Roy Mac's 'that's motivation' rant on the telly!

Some proper legends among these though. Not surprised at all by the way that Rasiak is up top. He had an unbelievable strikers knack. A shame what happened to him at Spurs, he never quite recovered.

My daughter made me a willie shrinkle of Lee Mills when she was little as he was her favourite player. Who remembers them?

They were bits of flat plastic that you drew on and then shrunk in the oven to make a badge sized errr.... badge.

Note - Lee Mills did not make my willie shrink in case any football abuse inquiry lawyers are mis-reading this.

No, we loaned him from Wolves and then he joined Vale on a perm when he left us as part of a swap deal for Robbie VDL

Ultimately, I think we got the better deal by far in the end. Robbie was a fine captain.

i wonder though is 10 games too much of a flash in the pan ? 

I am only messing but maybe we could get rid of a bit of chaff by putting in a 20 or 40 game minimum ?

great to see Franny Lee. Great player, I wonder what he would have made of "simulation" ..but he was a natural goal scorer. 

Thought Charlie George and King Kevin might have had a slightly better strike rate

Been searching for a list of top scorers for a while without any luck. The DET used to have a list when it was therams.co.uk but it disappeared when they changed the site.

It may be better to put them into the leagues they scored them in too. That may sort the wheat from the chaff.
