Ay up, Frogggy, Looks like me and the better half may be spending a few days near Beaminster next month. What's the heads-up on must-see places in that neck of the woods?

Are you still going and what sort of stuff do you like to do?

Yes. Boring stuff like historic monuments, stately homes etc. we're members of the N.T. so we get some info from that, but a bit of local knowledge can add a lot to that. We don't do the amount of walking that we used to do since I shattered my leg a few years ago, but I can still get around a bit. By the way, we've never explored Dorset and surroundings before so it's all new, so to speak.

All suggestions welcomed.

1 Gold street in Shaftesbury.

2 Stourhead

3 Durdle Door via Lulworth Castle and cove.

4 Corfe Castle via The Square and Compass in Worth Matravers.

5 Lyme Regis

If you like River Cottage check out their website for their various eateries in the West of the county.

If you have time check out Christchurch and Wimborne. That should keep you busy for a week.

Thanks for your time with that Frogggy, got a couple on the list already, so nice to add to it. Just hope the weather's reasonable.
