Art. I can't draw, I can't paint.

I'm not so bad at DIY. Working at Wickes for 3 years means you learn some of the tricks of the trade. Except plumbing. Might as well ask me to do brain surgery.

I enjoy DIY but like you - wouldn't try anything linked to plumbing other than cleaning the U-bend under the sink. I'll tackle basic electrics so when you think about it that's crazy - wrong move with plumbing and the worst that can happen is I get wet but a mistake with electricity and it could be zzzzzzzzzzzzz-ugh!

With you on the art/drawing thing as well

Weird that I'm exactly opposite. I'll have a go at electrics because (as long as the power is off when you're actually working on it) if you've done something wrong then it'll just trip the power breaker. If I attempt plumbing, I have a mental image of a failure of something & massive flood while we're out or, worse still, on holiday.

i love to dance, but am very bad at it.  Even the simplest dances elude me, i once Bumped a nice lady right off the dance floor and over a dining table.  DIY?  Forget about it.  From past experience my wife does all that and i'm not allowed to assist, give advice or look on even.  BTW i am of the opinion that IKEA furniture designers are the devil's spawn sent here specifically to drive knuckleheads like me mad.  Folding clothes is something i have been attempting to get a grip on for a few years now.  At this rate i will have mastered it at 80.

I'm with you on the folding clothes!

Do shop assistants get special training to perfect that look of scorn when you attempt to refold that T-Shirt, or does it come natural?

Ah a fellow folding sufferer.

Special courses, pay rise involved i think.

The worst of them skillfully mix it up.  It starts with mock surprise, then the corner of the lower lip twists a bit in a downward motion.  That's allowed to stay fixed for at least 10 seconds and finally followed by a mix of a look of glee and pity at which point i have shoveled the clothes into a bag and am racing out of there.

i claim it's because i am left handed, i always do.  So what's your excuse?

I start off ok, but then I feel their trained eyes boring into me, and suddenly lose all motor function from the neck down.

They should have had it on The Krypton Factor, far harder than sliding puzzle pieces around a sheet of perspex.

remember the noise of the old tape recorder made when loading and after a good 400 years loading it had a 50/50 chance of it actually working.

Syntax error - a common occurrence for me on my old Vic 20....showing my age now.  Could never afford a Commodore 64 :(

Simple answer, yes. I used to work at Millets - we were trained in 'facing up', folding things proper.

I didn't mind the re-folders. It's those that would just dump it.

Fair enough, but folding tents is a lot more specialised than folding T-Shirts!

Has anyone ever got a tent back into the bag from whence it came?
