Hopefully this is just another page filler as cant believe we are interested in him - injury waiting to happen and has a woeful scoring record - not a chance (please :)  )  I thought the boss already made it clear in interviews that he was focused on the midfield and certainly not non-scoring strikers.

Would cause defences no end of problems at this level, similar to Agyemang when he was at QPR. Martins scoring record wasnt exactly the best so no point judging too much until he is in a derby shirt.

3m may seem alot of money but this summer the value of players is beyond ridiculous so not much point paying that much attention to them as a fan...i have every faith in our owners and Rush that we will only spend what we can afford

I'm going to stick my neck firmly on the block here. I think he would be a fantastic signing at this level.

he has power, strength, aggression, athleticism and bravery. Everything I want in a striker to take the pressure off Martin and fit in the existing style of play with players buzzing in an around a focal point striker who is good with his back to goal.

players who haven't banged in goals in the premiership have stepped down a level and looked real handfuls. Cameron jerome last season is a prime example of this.

ever since we had kuqi on loan we have needed a big strong hold up player who can play with his back to goal and bring others into play and cause problems. How much did heskey change the game and cause problems when he came on for Bolton?

i will say this. I would rather have him in our team or our bench then any other opposition team we will face this season. He is the type of play who always causes us problems every single season. If he signs I for one think it is a good bit of business.

Totally agree with you....

He would be a beast in a Ram's shirt :)

Also for those who claim his goal tally for WBA was poor, remember in his two years there he has had 4 managers who seemed to have no idea how to use him

27 years old. Bought from Everton for £6m a couple of years ago. But only 80 league starts in his career. If he's fit he'll be good value; if he ain't, then we have to hope there are enough Baggies playing Candy Crush that it won't matter in the long run.

Here's what WBA were saying about his fitness, going into the summer: http://www.expressandstar.com/sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/2015/06/01/west-brom-determined-to-get-anichebe-fit/

I think he's potentially a tremendous option for this league. He will bully defenders. I'd much rather have the guy in our lineup than see his name on an opposition teamsheet.

Not even with the proverbial bargepole. Poor injury record record and not much more than 20 league goals in almost 180 appearances hardly makes him prolific!

Yes we turned Martin into a goalscorer (and much more) but doesn't mean we can expect to do it with every other under-achiever.
