what is it with Jocks and goal posts??

It's not just at Wembley they wreck them.

Cant blame the hibees a bit of over exuberance after 114 years. Last minute winner against Rangers at Hampden....thats the reason we all follow our clubs through the crap times.

Glasgow will be a bit interesting tonight.....I hear there was a bit of trouble around the gallowgate.

Didn't want to make a new thread about this but just had a news update from the BBC and it says United will appoint Mourinho as the new manager.

Just saying.

Been like for 6 months.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. Probably some Rangers fans went up there looking for trouble and it's be natural enough for Hibs fans to all go drinking in the Celtic pubs.

Yeh I get the pitch invasion but not the goal post stuff. I met some Hibs fans when on holiday once. They were really clued up on the championship and spoke about Derby all the time. I felt embarrassed that I hadn't got a clue about Hibernian apart from they came from Edinburgh.

All about not conceding to 10 men in 2nd half extra time too......

No luck in that though is there?

United thoroughly deserved to win the game and we're unlucky not to win it in 90 minutes. But they were fortunate in their route to the final. Never seen it so easy before.

Arguably Southampton, West Ham, Cardiff, Stoke, Wigan and Hull have all had easier routes to the final in the not too distant past too

Post them up. I should re-phrase, route to the trophy not just the final.

Well, a seventh-placed West Ham is the best team they've played in the competition. And they had them at home! Palace had Spurs and Southampton away, much tougher games.

All about the luck of the draw though.

My original quote said Crystal Palace. I wasn't trying to change any goal posts.

Of the list you've provided, I see none as easy as what United had. Their toughest fixture was against 7th in the Premier League, and even that was at Old Trafford.

Actually just seen Cardiff's run to the final. I may have to take my original statement back. Jesus how the hell did they manage to pull all those teams out of the bag? Plus they had Pompey in the final.

Yeh I'd say Cardiff had the easiest, then United.

Lingard scored an excellent goal, but MOTM?

Had to be Rooney if anyone deserved it!

Might as well give it to Pardew for his fancy footwork!

Was a fine goal by Lingard (who was by far our worst player when here) but the best Man U performer on the day was Clattenburg. As the underdog you need a fair deal from the officials. Not allowed to capitalize on 2 gilt-edged chances, a possible pen (& sending off for Rooney) &, ignoring that, no other ref would have fought so hard to keep Rooney on the pitch. Had Wayne played for Palace he'd have headed down the tunnel long before.

What about Hull's route to the final? Best team they faced was Sunderland who would have been near the relegation spots.

I haven't checked the tables for any season but I believe all of the highlighted ones involve teams which placed lower than 7th in the Premier league

Including the finalist? Hull for instance had Arsenal, Wigan had Manchester City. West Ham had Liverpool.
