Smiffy2491
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jun/24/richard-keogh-newcastle-derby-steve-mcclaren?CMP=share_btn_twSteve McClaren is considering a bid for the £4m-rated Derby County centre-half Richard Keogh. The Newcastle United manager would face competition from West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland for the 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international.Derby, McClaren’s former club, have made a move to sign the Burnley central defender Jason Shackell and if they were able to get him, they might allow Keogh to leave at the right price. They turned down a bid worth £2.5m for him last summer from Burnley, and he went on to agree a new contract at the club until 2018.Keogh was named in last season’s Championship Team of the Year and he has his admirers at West Brom, namely the manager, Tony Pulis, and the scout Andy Thorn. Pulis worked with him when he was a young player at Stoke City while Thorn was his manager at Coventry City. Sunderland are also monitoring the situation.Keogh, who joined Derby from Coventry in 2012, made 45 league appearances for the club last season and has established himself in Martin O’Neill’s Ireland squad.£4m seems unlikely but supposedly plenty of interest in him
Ramos
I am by no means a Keogh hater but i'd snap everyones arms off if we got offered 4 million for him.

Cam the Ram
Would love to keep him because I reckon a Keogh and Shackell partnership would be class but £4 million would probably be too much to refuse

TheDeadlySaul
I would take £4m, but it makes me laugh how a player can be slated by Derby fans, but be highly rated by top coaches and other players.
tomsdubs
4m is a decent return but until we sign Shackell I'd be hesitant. As much as some idiots in our fan base criticise him he is our best CB by a mile.
Day
Would be a cracking move for him, needs a fresh start and if we get Shackell we're pretty stacked at the back.

BOB BIGGS
I would take £4m, but it makes me laugh how a player can be slated by Derby fans, but be highly rated by top coaches and other players. Carl Sagan
As said elsewhere, I wouldn't object to Keogh leaving as so much of the fanbase seems to have fallen out of love with him. I felt he drove us on like a man possessed in the first two-thirds of the season, desperate for promotion. While he doesn't anticipate danger well enough to be a top centre back, he's clearly good in this division, as voted for by his peers last season. TheDeadlySaul
Newcastle ish thread - Is Simmo going there? What about Srteele.? What about Peacock and the other St George's guy?.Apparently McClaren wanted Steve Round as assistant, but it fell through and then he wanted Bolo Zenden, but it fell through, so now he is looking to bring Simmo in. Steele looks like he is staying at Derby and according to Alan Nixon Peacock is going to be Clement's assistant.
DcFc Dyycheee
Think it's best for everyone, including Keogh himself, if he leaves.
