cannable
Injury was Barnes failing tbf. We'll never know if his temperament/attitude would have failed him as well. He was certainly good enough to play in the prem. He broke his foot, did his ligaments twice, ruptured his Achilles twice (the second one, being THAT Dickinson tackle) all in a two year spell. It's amazing that he's still even a footballer, he can't have that bad an attitude to have come back from all that to carry on playing professionally. I never minded Barnes' attitude, he was arrogant enough to get the best out of himself without being anywhere near as much of a cock as Morrison. Just shows the perils of predicting the future. Especially predictions based on who currently plays for the reserves of big clubs.
May Contain Nuts
Never even heard of Robbie Threlfall. We had Dean Parrett on trial in the summer.
Mostyn6
I remember Chris Bart Williams being touted as a future England captain. He had a decent career, but he never went as highly as touted. Bobby Zamora was the big thing before Wayne Rooney burst onto the scene. I always find the younger brothers tend to be bigged up and then amount to not much! Rooney's younger brother was meant to be better that Wayne. Anton Ferdinand, Bradley Wright-Phillips. Nathan Delfounesso was meant to be the mutts nuts too. Alph
Even Will Hughes though, the guy is class. One of the few players worth paying to watch at this level. But he's replaced Steven Gerrard and recently been set to replace French international Cabaye who's now earned the chance to win major trophies. They set them up. It's the age obsession. Everyone assumes Hughes will get better with age like all those lads up there. Why will time passing make him better? He needs good coaching and a good attitude and experiences. Not months to pass. It's not very fair on the players. Why can't Hughes just be a really good Championship CM?
