I'm confused why the club have come out with this - if we're interested get him, if not, don't waste our time talking about it.

I can understand permanent transfers being a long drawn out affair with rumour, offer, counter offer, personal terms & medicals. I don't understand why loan transfers take any longer than a couple of phone calls.

As to the player - always rated him, even at PL level. Quick, direct, doesn't score a right lot but he'd cause chaos at this level. In a good way.

DT today - sorry don't know how to do the link
Nigel saying he is prepared to wait for Albrighton to get over his minor op. Conveniently extends the loan period into Jan when he can be signed Sounds as though an agreement already reached??

ANY move by Derby County to land Aston Villa’s Marc Albrighton on loan is likely to happen towards the end of the month.

Nigel Clough is keen for a 93-day loan – the maximum period for an emergency loan – to run until January and cover the busy Christmas programme of matches"http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/lb_icon1" alt="lb_icon1">.

  1. Marc Albrighton tops Derby's list of targets.

Albrighton is also booked in for a minor operation which could sideline him for a week or so.

The 23-year-old tops Derby’s list of targets as they look to bolster the right side of midfield and contact has already been made, I understand.

Albrighton has yet to make an appearance for Villa this season.

His record for the club is 80 games, including 29 last season, and nine goals"http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/lb_icon1" alt="lb_icon1">.

Chris Burke is another name on Derby’s list of loan targets but signing the 29-year-old Scot on loan is highly unlikely, as we reported in the Derby Telegraph yesterday.

Burke is in the final year of his contract at Birmingham City and remains an integral part of their side, according to manager"http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1" alt="icon1"> Lee Clark.

“From my point of view – and I can only speak from the football"http://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/lb_icon1" alt="lb_icon1"> management side – Chris has never indicated to me he wants to move and I have never indicated to Chris I would like him to move,” said Clark.

“Without a shadow of a doubt, he’s a vital member of our squad. He seems to be enjoying his football.

“Since I became manager, not once has he – or anybody involved with him – asked to leave.

“Something like that doesn’t particularly make any sense to me, to let one of your best players go out on loan.”

Leeds United tried and failed to sign Burke permanently on transfer deadline day.

Seems a good plan , providing we've got him ..
