Mostyn6
What about at home last season? a lot of goals scored, was that negative and fearful? not as positive as results would suggest. Not many came away from Pride Park inspired by the football aside from maybe 2 or 3 games.
Ambitious
not as positive as results would suggest. Not many came away from Pride Park inspired by the football aside from maybe 2 or 3 games. Really? I was very encouraged by the way we played at home - thought we was brilliant in most of our games, and very unlucky not to win more. against Ipswich we had 20 odd shots on goal, lost 1-0 for example. I'd like to see the stats, but I'd guess at least 60% of our 'shots' were from outside the area, Jamie Ward 'glory attempts' etc. I'd like to see the percentage of shots that were actually on target. I know that there were hardly any shots around the six yard box in open play.
The Scarlet Pimpernel
Yes, don't get carried away because we scored some beauties against Yeovil and Bournemouth. Those kind of performances are probably 2% of all the games Clough has been manager. I plan to go to watch us at Bournemouth. Looking forward to it even more now I know we are going to score some beauties.

DcfcNews12
I hope to see Jacobs on the left and ward/burke on the right.jacobs has a wicked shot and could get us goals if a run the side 5 assists on his debut and how he didnt get goal of the season with his volley last season pure technique that. North_Stand_Ram
Jacobs is a one trick pony, no left foot, always cuts in and opponents figure him out easily. Burke and Ward on the wings would be one of the best winger partnerships in the league.
DcfcNews12
disagree with the first part hes alot more skillful than either of the other two but the second i definately agree alot of goal threat aswell both can can finish

Even sitting in the stands, I can tell exactly what he's going to do before he's even thought about it. Wouldn't mind seeing him on the right at some point but, for the moment, I don't think he's ready. Burke would be an excellent stop-gap (that would certainly improve us) for the next two years whilst Jacobs develops.

Scott129
Messi always cuts in, so does Robben  Yes. But for them, it's just one trick/move in a whole arsenal. For Jacobs, it's just about all he can do. For the record, I can't believe you've just compared Messi and Robben to Jacobs.

Mostyn6
mark this thread, I'll tell you all now. If we sign Burke, within 6 months we will be arguing about who is the best potential replacement. He's no better than Croft was when we signed him and look how that turned out. Day
We won't sign Burke, even on loan.
