We have passionate fan base so now we must be stand up and be counted let's show that banker gibson that we are still fighting and keep fighting to bitter end.
And we must find a way of scoring and beating blackpool even if means going ugle football so be it. But we have get that ball down and play.

one game every August had my uncle's season ticket for the third tier ( up in the clouds ) of the Osmaston end, what a fantastic view to see the movement, running off the ball of the players total different perspective to the usual popside position.

Fantastic photo's and memories, the night of nights at the BBG must have been that must win game against Liverpool in 1971/1972 to stand a chance of winning our first title.
Can anyone find the film of John Mcgovern,s goal ?
My memory Mcgovern received the ball on the D of the penalty and it felt like slow motion with Clemence sprinting out of his goal, all of us were screaming shoot, Mcgovern was so composed as he waited for Clemence to come then he chipped the ball over Clemence and the ball bounced into the centre of the net, what composure under such extreme pressure.

SirBrian reacted to LeedsCityRam in Should Rooney be doing better under the current circumstances?
Like I said earlier in the thread, debate is of course valid & criticism also. No-one is pretending Rooney is perfect.
I think what his detractors tend to do though is belittle the context of his performance this season. Even the OP says 'ignoring the points deductions & embargoes'...but you can't ignore the embargo. It is an intrinsic part of why the squad is weak & ergo why our expectations should be tapered as such.
The point about 5 wins in 30 odd matches is also misleading & I think we need to separate last season from this season. I was as vocal as any poster on this forum last season about what I perceived to be Rooney's poor management & I was also one of only 7 people in January who voted for him not to be given the manager's position after the impressive run in Dec/Jan. The difference is that he had Waghorn, Wisdom, Clarke, Edmundson, Roberts & Gregory last season (& Bielik until early Feb), we played dreadful football, the young players looked shot & we still lost matches. Very different to the situation this season.
As to your point about whether he has the ability to guide us to promotion, the answer is we have no way of knowing that until we're in that position. He needs a stable, properly resourced club & only then can we make an informed judgement about his ability to rebuild the club.

Well said re Festy. The lad is doing really well in his first season at this level. As a supporter he's one name I like to see on the team sheet as he gets you off your seat as an exciting talent prepared to do what no-one else in the team is - really take his man on and attack, time after time.
So what if it doesn't work sometimes? I'd much rather he tried this and failed than jog 25 yards up the pitch then pass it 10 yards backwards when faced with an opponent. He'll learn the game at this level. And if keeps that attacking intent then he's got a great career ahead of him.

Went to a right weird pub in Bristol. Ordered a pint of cider and a pint of Guinness and got charged £4.60. It was the highlight of the day really. I was a bit disappointed with the game. It’s really frustrating when you know these are the teams we need to beat. I can see what a Rooney is trying to do. I think he needs a few more players to get it right. A good following for a team bottom.

Just got home. It's been a long day. Bright and sunny down in Bristol, but some horrendous driving conditions in torrential rain from just below Birmingham on the way back.
To answer some questions about what we expect given the resources at our disposal, I think I expect a bit of fight and for the players and management team to at least have a go.
I thought we got that second half, and you could tell that's all the majority want from the way the fans got behind the team.
First half team was "meh" and so were the fans. Not sure how much of that was down to Rooney and how much to players not following the plan, but I was pleased to see him have the courage to change it up at half time.
Felt the ref didn't help, he seemed to be giving them everything and us nothing. Whether it's true or not, it was affecting morale. Also, any ref that has to walk 40 yards to book a player because he won't come to him is not in control of the game. And as for the farce over the time-wasting towel routines - ugh.  I can see why he's been demoted from the Prem!

Get rid of all the doom and gloom for we all no nothing and that includes the gutter press, liquidation always an option from day one, nothing as changed, for the HMRC they will play hard ball for a time and negotiations will continue and would still expect a deal to be struck.
Wayne as come out and said that he cannot see liquidation and i am sure that he has more information than the Daily Mail, in Wayne i trust, we as fans can only wait and see what will happen, I will stay positive that the club will survive.
