Not being mystic meg, would any other manager have stuck with the club when the going got tough, doubt they would.
Wayne handled the pressure from EFL and serious embargo's, he maintained dignity on and off the field looking after players and all the backroom staff, all the way down the chain including the cleaners, he also got the fans and players together in these trying times and you fans who are able to go to the games, say  that it is one of the best seasons they have witnessed, he turned Everton down to stay with Derby, and all the added pressure of the wags court case!
What as he done for Derby hell of a LOT.

What Wayne as done over the season to keep Derby in business by the fighting spirit and never give up attitude is not only at the football club, the effect of Derby County is throughout Derbyshire, if Derby were no more then the economy in Derby would plunge and many jobs would be gone whether in pubs, cafe's, shops etc.
The council may well have taken note of what Wayne as done and they feel he deserves the reconition for business reasons, not only for football, if Wayne had not stayed then i for one doubt that we would have a club.

If Wayne signs a three year contract that will be amazing. Was surprised that he came to Derby , but sticking with us even in League One shows unbelievable commitment . Hopefully that will be an example for the players to stick with us too.

Well, he gets to enjoy it - or we could wait until he dies?! ?
Rooney has bigger 'titles' to carry around already so another one won't hardly weigh him down any.
I'm all for it, I so want to say thank you (in a big way) for last season and for keeping our Club going and for giving me back the pride in our Club. #COYR

    Well said.
And without Rooney, I doubt CK would have been so interested.
So we'd've been faced with the grim prospect of Ashley or the unthinkable prospect of liquidation.
Rooney deserves any honour this city can give him - and, most of all, he deserves our gratitude.

The academy may be barren at the moment, one advantage that the academy as, is Darren Wassel and his staff who have proven over the years how good they are in finding lads who have been let go by premier clubs, Plange was one who came via this route.
Any young player would love to come to Derbys academy, with the success and ammount of players who have come through and are making their living in the PL or Championship, once again the academy will be our way forward in the revival of Derby County.

I agree with you, I'm just saying that the academy requires time to rebuild.
Players take time to step up.
I'm concerned about players the wrong side of 32 being relied on as well, so we get linked with Bardsley.

There as to be an enquiry how they handled this fiasco, and if there is any corruption proven then there should be criminal charges taken against the EFL, no one expected Fifa, Uefa, Juventus and Sepp Blatter and many more in football to be corrupt.
Sure the MPs will not let this drop, and you in Derbyshire must push your MPs to push for an enquiry, for us fans certainly need answers.

"Many times"? - really liked Frank as our manager when he was here, we had a fun season but how he acted that summer with a total lack of any respect for our club and fans and his apparent lack of any sentiment for us since going has made me dislike him and see through his PR gloss. Totally opposite to our Wayne - didnt like him through career, didnt want him as player or manager but what you see is what you get, proper footballing gaffer, loyal, gets on with it, and I have come to respect and adore him. Truly think if he had walked we would have no Derby County now

Unless you are Mystic Meg after a sex change then you do not know, lol
When Derby sacked Tim Ward and brought in the young wippersnapper unproven most Derby fans i knew were shocked that Brian Clough had the job, and there was little improvement in the first season in charge, derby were still close to the bottom of the second division, and after a few seasons the rest is history, and so Derby could be Wayne's destiny, i for one hope so.

After the clubs recent history of bad owners.
Robert Maxwell, 3 amigos, Mel Morris, it is great that we now have a owner who appears to have his head screwed on in CK, and the club should pay for itself.
Last season taught us one thing how important the academy is to DC and that it should be the way forward in our revival.

For God's sake all you doom and gloom merchants and know alls give it a break, surley CK is not clueless and knows that the stadium will not be an issue or he would have walked away, not willingly take over the running of Derby County and paying the bills.
Smile and be happy, think positive we have a great owner who loves sport and we also have a great manager who loves the club, it takes more muscles to frown than too smile, happy days are here again!!!
