So why didn’t he carry on with the purchase?
if he got it for £23 million then he’d probably make a profit out of flattening it and building on it, so no risk!
it’s all lies and damn lies, MM wanted to raise us to the ground and he’s succeeded.
    Why? I don’t know!

I think you’re guessing that was the case. Just a rumour imo! If he had bought PP in any case, he could have transferred it over to a new buyer at the same cost, if he was going to be so generous spirited.

You’re correct in many ways but the bottom line is always money. Any potential buyer will always judge its value on a worst case scenario and what all assets are worth should it all go wrong. As unpalatable as it is to some, the redevelopment of PP will be in those calculations and we can only hope it isn’t the prime motivation of a potential buyer. I’m going to guess that one stumbling block is that MM will have clauses in place excluding redevelopment in any sale of the stadium, so he dosent miss out on a big pay day himself.

I see people are still reading 'between the lines' to draw conclusions and make accusations for themselves to get angry at. And for other people to then take as fact to get angry at, also.
People making stuff up, or repeating things which have already been disproven, when called out on it revert to claiming that this counts as defending the administrators.
Not spewing out any old rubbish that comes into your head, instead looking at things logically and sensibly is taken to be 'making excuses', do that and you get accused of being part of the problem and facilitating the shysters. In some bizarre twist you're the one acting like a 10 year old.
Apparently screaming and shouting, accusing people of saying things they haven't, painting them into a position they don't hold and citing their attitude as one of the reasons we're in this mess (now that's insulting) is very mature, however.

The repeated outrage at the EFL being 'blackballed' when it's simply not the case. The notion that the administrators should cut dead any potential bid from any third party who doesn't want to engage on this with the EFL at this stage could well be something that helps liquidate us if it leaves us with no bidders, or a bidder who doesn't particularly mind picking up the pieces after liquidation!
It's just such an ill thought out idea, as well as being mildly hypocritical, but as long as it's the opposite of what the administrators do it must be good, it must be right.

The cost of the club is rising with each loan that gets given out, interest etc is a direct result of there not being a firm offer to take forward using the set out criteria.
That being the case the 'bidders' (a term which can be used very loosely given their continued reluctance to actually bid) have shot themselves in the foot.
Not being willing to match CK's bid in February/March, taking their ball and going home when a PB was in place and not being ready with a bid for if/when it fell apart, -  people on here will tell you that they could see it coming a mile off, but apparently the other bidders couldn't? -  going in with lowball offers etc
It's all lead to this, unfortunately.

He didn't carry on because the purchase is inextricably tied into Derby exiting admin.  It's all going to be done in one single group of transactions.  And there's always the chance that one of the alternate bidders wants the stadium themselves, in which case it's just made everything even more complicated if it's already been sold.
And as for the second bit, just give over.  I know Morris has made a complete mess of things, but there's no way he's deliberately trying to destroy the club. He's spent a crazy amount of his own money over the last few years, it makes no sense.  As far as I'm concerned he probably bought us with fairly reasonable intentions, made a lot of bad decisions, got in over his head, and ran away.  That's it. No evil genius trying to destroy the club. No mastermind trying to rob the club of it's millions.  Just a load of stupid decisions in a row.

Well yes, rumours until it’s proved.
Its easy to shrug off as the people who have spoken to the admins would like to remain anonymous at the moment.  But Clowes was one who was or is going to help get the sale done.

too much sense in this post for some on here. there will be some that will defend q for liquidating us because they had no other options

they have done a terrible job, and continue to do a terrible job under the guidance of you know who.

the statement is awful, the blackballing of the EFL is even worse

    This is a bizarre forum
it’s now obvious that our interests and the EFL’s interests are aligned. They want us free from all of this, because if we are liquidated they will get it in the neck.
We also know that EFl involvement in the M&A process will be to our benefit - because only serious bidders will be willing to allow the EFl to see negotiations, because if the EFl is involved they can give a real time response to bidder questions about the (non- transparent) EFl  insolvency rules; and because q have been turned inside out by bidders who are far savvier than they are and the EFL’s involvement will moderate behaviour.

But still there is a vocal group of posters who support q in their attempt to exclude the EFL from the process
Q’s position on this is spurious and confirms that - contrary to the club’s interests - they will throw the dice and seek to do a deal themselves, rather than be seen to seek EFL help.
They should simply be telling bidders: thank you for your interest, we will take you forward to bid stage but only when you have confirmed we may share all documentation with EFL. Genuine bidders should have no problem with this. We don’t want the rest

I’m playing devils advocate a little here but the TL photo dosent surprise me that much. There are so many people within the club who’ve been lied to constantly all season. Rooney was lied to by MM, Q and Kirchner and WR has also mislead the players by repeating such nonsense as a caveat to “stay with us we’re going to be massive when all this is sorted.”  If TL had requested a move in January he’d possibly be playing PL with Bournemouth next season.

So basically nobody submitted a bid adequate to fulfil the requirements to exit admin when we was a championship club with twice the amount of players under contract. Apart from CK. so why do they think anyone would make that bid now when the debts have increased, The clubs been relegated and we have minimal playing staff as assets!!

What a mess MM, Q, Gibson and the EFL have made

Yes you did say that and I agreed with you!
What a lot of people have never understood is that there isn’t much if any room for negotiation. Q has outlined what it will take to save the club and all the different facets are now as low as they can go. MA has never wanted to get involved that’s why he never has. This week is our last week of existence unless someone pays the amount for the club outlined by Q or throughs £10 million into the ring as a retainer to the EFL to show we can pay all bills for next season.

Oh dear , pretty grim reading again. .so Kirchner was the only offer that would have allowed us to keep Golden share? Maybe that explains the rather desperate choice of CK as PB.  I don't really get all the noise being made by Binnies, Ashley and co.. if they didn't offer enough to keep us in the League why would they expect to be chosen as PB?

You do realise that not all accountants look at and prepare accounts dont you? I am not suggesting GStar Ram doesnt by the way before that is twisted but I am and havent look at any for at least 20 years.

And not at aimed at you at all but to get it all out my system everyone who keeps suggesting that Q are on time and a half or double time at weekends - I have never known an accountant who gets time and a half or double time especially partners who often dont get time off in lieu either. Finally it is never "the HMRC" its just "HMRC" always. There feel better now. Thank you alram for the opportunity

Not weird at all though, was it.
It was us massaging the outstanding amortisation loss into a different year to suit our finances.
Whatever anyone says about the rights and wrongs of the policy, it was actions like that that encouraged the pressure on the EFL to act.

I think a lot of CKs £21.4m or whatever was finally agreed, was going to HMRC as an upfront,  with other payments to follow as part of the 3 year plan.
I dont believe for a minute they are taking a 35% settlement that's all.
