We don’t what the business plan is or how it will operate . They might force us to sell our best players for less than they are worth. They might impose unreasonable salary caps so we cannot compete.

and if a takeover doesn’t happen it would be the Efl that could throw the club out if the League and not let us back in again.

If the takeover does not happen that is the end. EFL not required, administration will shut it down

Totally agree. Whoever comes in needs to bring on new advisors and clear out anyone from the current advisors. Something within the club turns good players into poor players (Johnson, Butterfield ). That needs sorting. The whole scouting system needs removing and replacing with the manager involved in who comes in. Not clear how much influence most managers were involved previously but they need to be involved

More importantly, where did your £45M figure come from?

Thought that was the figure bandied around right at the start

  4. Not supporting Mel at all and his accountant S Pearce, but if Mel had not put us into administration the tax man reported as being owed 45 million would have been at the high court going for liquidation as they were supposed to have been doing in 2020. Where would that 45 million have come from

The EFL should step in and threaten them with a points deduction. Im not sure what for but its complete nonsense of a claim from gibson

The EFL have punished us. We have accepted the points deduction. EFL & Derby can now draw a line under it and move on.

However that clown is potentially putting off other buyers. It should be against the spirt of the game (whatever that is). Its the EFL's job to punish us not gibsons or boro's.

There is no way they can prove they would have gone up if they had got in the playoffs & therefore he can't prove a loss. He should be told by the league to drop it

What about bringing the game into disrepute that does it for me

I agree - it was to form an advantage. But that's not to say forming that advantage wasn't allowed... the rules are the rules and we did not break the rules other than to not properly disclose our method. I have seem no evidence that our policy contravenes FRS102 which is the charge that has resulted in this 9 point deduction and 3 point suspended deduction sanction. We've then been further punished for trying to prove our innocence.

If the EFL want a principles based regulation, they should implement a principle based regulation. They haven't. Its rules based, which they then flex and change based on their agenda.

What puzzles me is the second tribunal found that we did not comply with Fs102 which to everyone else we did. One side must be right and oneside wrong. Add to that our accounts were checked by the accountants ruling body who found nothing wrong. If what I post is correct a simple letter from the ruling body should have been a great lever for the administrators to use. Just because no other club did it out way means nothing because somehow we were found not to be complying with fs102

  7. Been thinking about the 9, plus 3 points. If the EFL had accepted Marriott's signature on his new contract last Christmas that would have put a value of say £2 million on him . Wouldn't that have stopped us breaking ffp in the third season. As for Readings punishment even Nixson cannot understand how they got to 6 points for a. 18.8 million overspend.

As far as January goes, no fees can be paid - so it's freebies only. The Business plan only covers this season; there are no restrictions after June 30th (the official end of player contracts).

However... this might not be the end of it. This Business Plan is just part of the current agreed sanctions but to exit an Administration the EFL normally require a rigid business plan in place to allow the new owners to take the 'Golden Share', so who knows what that might entail.

You might just have hit what the administrator traded. Points in exchange for sanction listing one year not two

There may be a delay due to agreeing a business plan with Efl which is tricky if you don’t know who the owner will be. Agreeing a punishment has to coincide with new owners taking over.

but I think we are close to moving to preferred bidder stage … 48 hours maybe?

The BBC are claiming today or tomorrow so will be tomorrow as the EFL like stringing things out as long as they can because they don't care about the fans, just the money the club's generate for them.

So according to you we had in 2017-18 £29 million revenue and I think it was higher in 2018-19 the last full year before COVID. Morris  said revenue dropped to little over £10m, mostly TV money. We lost revenue for a full 18 months , including bars and restaurants events etc for most of that 18 months. Not sure why you would query the lost revenue figure of £20 million.

I haven't convinced myself we would win the admin appeal nor have I suggested any conspiarcy about it. I don't know what the result would be. We may never know. If we pull out ouf the appeal it will be because the admin are trying to agree an overall settlement with EFL for everything, and rather take all the pain all at once rather than drag it on into the New year or even into next season. .that would only make sense if they have a buyer ready and willing to tak eover poretty much straight away. As i say we are agreed on that , it is the main thing, we need new owners and quickly.

The EFL stated that we were funded on a benefactor system or words to that effect. We have been told the club revenue was down 20 million, what we don't know what effect covid had on Morris's income or value  that surely has to come into any calculation, direct loss and ability to replace it

That's it. The EFL needs an extradition treaty with the EPL!

QPR found out how terrible the sanctions were for breaking ffp to get promotion. They were fined £5 million which sound quite a bit except they trousered £100 million plus from being in the premiership and parachute payments. In these days of transparency I have seen nothing about what sanction Villa got or anyone else. Wasn't it said 8 our of 10 clubs promoted broke ffp. Sanctions are for failure to be oromoted

Exactly. Also why should promotion to the Premier league allow a club to avoid points deductions for FFP breaches in the Championship ?

It is analogous to an individual committing fraud on a massive scale and then fleeing to the Costa Del Sol to escape punishment.

They should get a points deduction when religated back into the championship as most are sooner or later
