Kathcairns reacted to Walkley Ram in Match Thread: vs Northampton Town (a)
I'm not against this, might actually be able to get away tickets again.

There’s not been many games more one sided than that. It quite easily could’ve been more than 5, probably should’ve been.
Still doesn’t top the 1-2 win at their place with Fielding sent off and Hendrick scoring the winner minutes after missing that sitter, though.

I was with family in Iceland on a coach tour of the fabulous "Golden Circle", while listening to the Radio Derby commentary via the bus's excellent free WiFi. What an afternoon, with geysers, glaciers, extraordinary waterfalls and a famous 5-0 win. Followed by northern lights in the evening.
I can't find it now, but the club ran a very half-baked contest for something, and I wrote the afternoon up as a story, which led to me winning Craig Bryson's signed and dated boots from that day. Can it really be ten years ago already?

I wasn't at that one though, and losing in the final took the shine off for me.

Hello! I’m new to the forum and posting - so please be patient with me! My grandpa Harry Brown was the editor of the match day program “The Ram” until he passed away in 1988, and I was brought up as an avid Derby fan living in Lancashire. Recently I’ve been at my parents house, and came across a box full of his belongings from his office that was cleared when he died. There are lots of photos and negatives from pictures that went in to the program, along with cuttings, programs, letters etc. I was wondering if there would be any interest if I posted pictures on here? Maybe people would recognise those in the photos? Adding a photo of car parking pass for 1988/89 season unused as an example. So much history ☺️

Been wondering what happened to this for a while. Should never have lent it to Stoke then they sent on again without our knowledge during our admin carnage.

We met him in the hotel at Wembley before the Villa playoff final, I reminded him what a hero he was for that match.

Not had a match that exciting since. Loved Craig Bryson, will always be remembered for his hat trick.

Fair play fella. I'm assuming your not old enough to have been here in 1975 when Derby were champions of England when we played Carlisle last game of the season having already clinched the League in midweek.
Your part of our history and will be welcome in Derby.

The issue some posters have is that we don't play like Man City/Arsenal, Then you have to look as to why they wonder, We have a team that ATM is in League 1, We have a team that's playing in a division that's meh! at best, We have a manager that's been brought in to get out of this division ASAP with a brand of football that's not to good on the eye, We've had to get players to fit in a squad where the previous manager bought, Some of those players may find that the managers way is the only way
Football is an easy game if you had the recourses that Ipswich had or players that Plymouth and Sheff Wed had, We didn't have those, There were times last season when we looked pretty good, There were times when we looked...pish...the officials were and still are Poor and hold a joker to play when they choose.
Things have changed this last few weeks, A back 3 with wingbacks, It matters not to me who we play, I was glad to see Forsyth back as a more calming figure than Bradley...imo, Still setting up with 3 at the back is OK against a Bolton team who were c***-a-hoop after sticking 5 past Oxford...job done 1-0 and we move on, I'm not getting worked up with those who say..."Bolton were the better team" so fcuking what 😊
It's all in our hands now, A win on Saturday and Bolton/Peterboro will be lagging behind, There will always be Nay Sayers...who if they were joint winners of the £20million jackpot lottery they'd moan they didn't win it all.
I see a little change in PW/Coaching team, They're not afraid of change where this time last season they looked to be, It's over to you PW and Co, Take the opportunity you have given yourselves and the freedom of the City will be your's...in most peoples eyes 😉

We need to win physical battles over the last few games. Connor is a good footballer and has done enough this season to be thanked for his contribution but i feel we need to fight like feck every minute of every game to get over the line and we probably need younger lads to do it.
Liam Thompson i feel will be more important than Connor. Not because he's a better player but he will close players down and retain possession in their half.

Kathcairns reacted to uttoxram75 in Wildsmith
Whether Joe Wildsmith stays or not he will be remembered fondly. He's done his best for us, made some incredible saves and has been such an important part of our recovery.
If we go up and we offer him a contract it will have to be summatt special to make him go.
If Warne wants him he'll stay. There's no bigger club in the Championship so unless he gets offered silly money he'll want to see how far Derby can go.

Kathcairns reacted to Srg in Wildsmith
Wildsmith looked like he proper despised Warne as Warne leapt into his arms to give him a big cuddle on Saturday. Jesus wept.
This Nixon, yes, that bastion of truth, taking the comment from the forum last night about nothing til after the season and running with it as he's one, if not, the best player we have who's not under contract next season.
