Lincoln did us a favour last weekend. People will say it’s early days but a top two finish is a far cry if we don’t win most of the 6 pointers against Plymouth, Ipswich, Portsmouth, Wendies...   Home and away. 

Not one of their players would make a world's best U21 first second third fourth or fifth best team..they were a lot better than us because we played like a training game..they deserved to win...but we made them look a lot better than they are..

Exactly. We’re away at Liverpool. So Lord knows when we’ll next see as much talent at PP. Mansfield was the problem. It was a pleasure to see the wunderkinds on show  (and on another day we would have beaten them). Remember the names

Dave, you need to get over this referee obsession and that somehow the world is against us and everything's an injustice and it's always everybody's else fault.  Most the the time the architects of our downfalls are.....us.
It wasn't even a foul on Collins. We were just poor/average and Man City were much better, faster and sharper. That's why we lost and they deserved the win. The ref was ok last night, most of them are, with the odd exception. 

Rico Lewis has played in 3 PL games already this season. Both he and Wilson-Esbrand have both plated in the Champions League. Ben Knight has also been involved in the first team squad this season. All three weren't involved in the Mansfield game.
Although, Larios who did play vs Mansfield now plays PL football for Southampton after a £6.3m move on the last day of the transfer window.

On the plus side, it was heartening when a couple of times on ramstv they showed Rooney looking despondent followed immediately by Stearman and Bird giving him words of encouragement. 

Several from that Citi team could play in the prem now.

I haven’t followed their lineups in the other games. Are you saying we got their creme de la crème while Mansfield got the second string ? It certainly felt like it !
No denying City played well. Buzzing around us and working together. The more I think about it the more I reckon we gave a reasonable account of ourselves. We did create chances and for a neutral it must have been an lively and interesting game. We just looked less polished in the first touch department and a few percentage points slower to react - regardless of players ages. There was no lack of effort or intent.

I was at the game last night and it was a bit of a reality check for some fans . Those who said Jake was a Prem player had a wake up call.Most of us are realistic. The Championship is a lot faster than Div one and the Prem is 10 times faster than that. If we get up this season we would need massive investment next season.

Don’t understand that. We’re a strong div 1 club playing against a group of players all of who could be full internationals in a few years. That Man City team would challenge most championship clubs. And we’d beat them another day. I though we played ok given the game was played at a pace that’s completely unfamiliar to us 
For my money we should have started with the Osulas and Dobbins and finished with Didzy and Collins

not the richest club      the richest group of clubs   

Odoruh was released by Man City because he wasn't good enough to get into the side we just lost to.
Dobbin was playing for a side which lost 7-0 to these on the last day of last season.
Roberts was a CB at U21 level last season, and is now learning to play LWB.
Osula was playing a level below PL2 (Mam City U21s) last season in thr PDL.
Rooney wasn't even a regular for Burnley U21s last season.

We did start an eleven with players with plenty of Championship experience, this is true.
But does experience count for much if you are playing in such an unfamiliar set up?
In games like this, it is rather easy to look like a group of strangers.
A new style, a new formation, no partnerships, little to no familiarity, varying levels of fitness and match sharpness, players playing in makeshift positions, little to no incentive or motivation.
You can see why we might come unstuck against a group that play week in, week out together and come into such a game extremely motivated compared to our players. They see it as a proving ground. They might even see it as a shop window in many ways.
Warne obviously has his eyes on Friday and clearly so did the players. Not good but understandable.

How thats not a foul is beyond me, Leads with his elbow on Collins. Sloppy defending again though, shows our depth is crap
