And getting paid on time in May will have boosted confidence that there is something worth staying for.

Precisely, a cash buyer would maybe transfer the money a couple of days before completion, a lender would only do it at the point of completion. Smart people don't tend to stick their cash in to other people's accounts for any longer than necessary...

Nixon has confirmed that the players have been paid. The only party that could have put in the funds to do that at this stage is Kirchner. Unless he's the sort of person who likes burning the best part of £1M, I'd say he's still very much committed to completion.
I was once involved in a far less complicated transaction, with all the funding in place, but which also involved 5 sets of lawyers. The completion date got moved 5 times over the space of two weeks due to late interventions by one or other of the lawyers, on one occasion at 10.30pm with all of us poised to sign, and some parties wouldn't agree to complete unless their lawyers were 100% happy. This sh*t happens, and it would be foolish of Kirchner to say too much about what is the issue and who is causing it.
I'm still very confident it will go through.

One factor may be that the parties involved in closing don’t trust each other. So closing won’t be confirmed until everyone has their cash in their own bank account. This means a whole series of interdependent payments need to be made (some cross border). Banks miss payments in, banking systems get clogged up before bank holidays, errors are made ....
I just hope for her sake HRH makes it through the weekend I think she’d be devastated not to see our deal close

He told a bloke to stick to being a fan and leave business to those who understand business. He then doesn't consider bank holidays as part of a transfer of funds, with contract discussions with other clubs ready to go full steam ahead as it's June.

I think CK’s comms recently have been excellent. He’s telling us to relax and I’m going to take his advice. Q were clear that 31/5 was no more than a target for closing

While the punfest continues, folks have missed the clarification that CK himself will not be buying the stadium but it's a partner.

I've been thinking of ways I can try and help get this deal over the line so I asked my Dad to buy the stadium and he said no, let your Mumbai it.

He seemed more to be saying that the club itself was not taking on debt But it was a confusing tweet I’d guess CK might have a fair bit of debt on his personal balance sheet

So is CK saying : I’m not taking on any debt? Or is he saying: no debt is being put on the club?
the poster I replied to thought one thing and I thought another. That’s all I was saying
And who’s funding the 35% payment to creditors ? From club cashflows? That sounds like debt on the club to me
