Don’t think MA is a teaming up sort of guy. And would DC want him as a co-investor !! ?
AA may be, not least because he might not have found enough investors and he’s used to running consortiums
have no idea about SM.
As others have said, DC is saving our bacon, he’s not mad keen to buy. So his plan may be to buy the stadium. Then to make a binding offer for the club so that q can say to the other bidders: it’s yours if you outbid DC

It’s difficult because you’re asking owners of teams to give earned revenue away to other owners who haven’t earned it. The EFL could absolutely make more of their product, but instead decide to market it as ‘the wilderness’ and the only thing that matters is the Premier League.
The EFL need to focus on their own revenue and the Premier League’s charity should be grass roots not the three divisions below them. The problem is that the EFL have got lazy in just accepting handouts, rather than do something about it.

I agree B4. The drip down of wealth from the top leagues needs to happen more. However sky and global broadcast companies pay big money for the big games liverpool v man utd and so on.
Nobody in Africa, the Middle East, Asia are desperate to watch barrow v Oldham or Derby v pompey and that's the issue.
I bet if sky could drop all coverage outside of the top 10 english clubs they would do so in a heartbeat. They probably see it as an inconvenience and gets in the way of nlanket coverage of teams we "should all suupport"

I agree, but the cynic in me also believes there will be plenty of people to 'go for broke' to avoid being left below when the Premier League inevitably shuts the trap door citing welfare concerns for relegated clubs.
The Premier League will eventually be run very similarly to the Premier League 2 where there are two divisions (enabling the promotion and relegation aspect) where teams who aren't up to grade are demoted to the Football League on commercial terms and expansion allows teams into the Premier League based on commercial criteria.
The international funding for the Premier League is going to be the majority, sooner or later the gap is going to be far too big to sustain (as if it isn't now). The Football League would do well to focus their marketing rather than asking for handout after handout.

My understanding was that Appleby made a pool of investors that he essentially pulls funding for on projects, at least that was my interpretation of his business model from yesteryear. A bunch of middle class American's all looking for investment opportunities in sport, although I'd imagine it includes a long list of people from the very wealthy all the way down to the middle management types.
I do seem to recall funding for players during their initial tenure was slow and tenuous, especially if we were fronting the cash. No idea if this time will be any better, but I'm happy to wait and see.

I expect he's making a joke on Appleby sharing the same initials as Alcoholics' Anonymous.

The brown acid that is circulating around us isn't too good. It is suggested that you stay away from that. Of course it's your own trip. So be my guest, but please be advised that there is a warning on that one, ok?"
