Cricket, to me, is a game played over 4 or 5 days. I tolerate the 'electric rounders' stuff, but if that's all we have, I will walk away.

They will have a big fight on their hands. Will lose most of the traditional cricket fans with more of this nonsense

I got pinged a couple of times recently - both probably from cricket. Negative in both instances. Also keeping my end up as a non-covidian.

Yep. Two balls in succession from the duck pond end, both off a good length, one went at ankle height and the other took off.

Between Tom Wood’s inhaler and Mattie McKiernan’s tape, I wouldn’t be surprised if Mickey Arthur has held a meeting regarding accountability and making sure absolutely everything is as it should be.

    Yep.
Apparently (according to Sue, listening to the announcements on YouTube) the outfield is so squidgy, they can't use the super-sopper to remove the water from the covers.
Needless to say, we're at home waiting for developments.

I used to love the the JPL used to sneak in through the railings on the racecourse,I was about 7 when I first started going down (1972). Unfortunately they’d have to be about 5 railings missing now for me to sneak in so I’m now a member

I've watched the first half a dozen episodes/stories so far, and this stuff is right up my street. It definitely has a 'Twilight Zone' feel to it.

The first 40 overs a side cricket matches shown on Sunday afternoons on BBC2, with the wonderful John Arlott commentating.
It featured individual counties playing a select XI called The International Cavaliers. I think it started in 1965 and ran through to 1968, and was the forerunner to the John Player League which started the following year.
Games could not start before 2:00 pm, and were supposed to be completed before the bells rang for evening church services.
It was the only professional cricket on Sundays (county matches were 3 days, and Sunday was a rest day in Test Matches).
