VulcanRam reacted to NottsRam in Bolton Wanderers (H) Sat 21st Jan
To be fair, they change the rules so often these days, I wouldn't have been surprised if i missed it! God knows how the refs keep up.

Apologies, you're both right, I was thinking of only a DOGSO where the rules were downgraded a couple of seasons back to only issue yellow for a DOGSO if advantage is applied. I wasn't thinking of serious foul play or violent conduct. Serves me right for sneaking onto the board quickly while at work.

I’d think most linos in the land took an interest in the Japan Germany incident (where almost everyone thought it should have been disallowed) and that as a result a different approach is being taken
I’m referring to the World Cup not the world war

Referees are taught that player reaction tells you a lot about the decisions you make. To judge by the Derby players reaction, they didn't think it was obvious that the ball had gone out. That screenshot certainly isn't conclusive one way or the other. It might have done, it might not. Even if it did, it's so hard to see when everything is happening at real speed. This is one instance where VAR would be very useful.

VulcanRam reacted to angieram in Away Tickets - 2022/23
I'll just leave this here.
IS FOOTBALL ON THE TERRACES GOING BACK TO THE 80'S IDIOT'S FIGHTING ABUSE BEING AIMED AT NOT JUST THE OPOSITION BUT ALSO THEIR OWN FAN'S .
EVERTON FANS WITH DEATH THREATS TOWARDS BILL KENWRIGHT. THE LADY CHIEF EXECUTIVE PUT IN A HEADLOCK BY A SUPPORTER ,THE BOARD ADVISED TO STAY AT HOME FOR THEIR OWN SAFETY.
SCUNTHORPE FANS INVADING THE PITCH WITH FLARES TO PROTEST AGAINST THE OWNERS.
WHEN DERBY WAS PUT INTO ADMINISTRATION BY THE LAST OWNER. MOST OF THE SUPPORTERS STAGED PEACEFUL PROTESTS, WITH THE ODD FEW HELL BENT ON HURLING ABUSE OUTSIDE M.M'S HOME (THIS IS UNFORGIVABLE BEHAVIOUR). AND IT'S GETTING EVEN WORSE .DISABLED SUPPORTERS ARE NOT TREATED WELL BY SOME OF OUR OWN FAN'S OR SOME OF THE OPPOSITION CLUB'S. STEWARD'S (YESTERDAY'S NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RANT).
AT DERBY'S GAME WITH CHELTENHAM AN AMBULANT DISABLED SUPPORTER WAS VERBALLY ABUSED BY A MAN WHO WAS WITH HIS YOUNG SON. THE MOTHER OF THE
YOUNG LADY POLITELY ASKED THE MAN BEHIND TO BE CAREFUL AS HER DAUGHTER WAS DISABLED AND HAD A BRAIN TUMOUR .
THE MAN THEN SAID WELL F...ING LEAVE HER AT HOME.
THE MANS YOUNG SON LOOKED AT HIS FATHER AND SEEMED EMBARRASSED .
I JUST WONDER LISTENING TO SOME OF THESE PEOPLES LANGUAGE IN FRONT OF THEIR OWN YOUNGSTERS WHAT THE CHILDREN ARE GOING TO GROW UP LIKE.
UNFORTUNATELY THE LADY DIDN'T GET THE SEAT NUMBER OF THE MAN OR HE COULD HAVE BEEN REPORTED TO DERBY.
IT IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING THAT OUR DISABLED FAN'S CAN'T ATTEND A GAME IN COMFORT. AND THAT FANS CAN'T JUST DO PEACEFUL PROTESTS.
THE FA SHOULD INSIST AND FUND IF NECESSARY ALL CLUB'S TO ENSURE WHEELCHAIR AND AMBULANT SUPPORTER ARE SITUATED IN A PART OF THE STADIUM WHERE THEY CAN SEE THE GAME IN COMFORT AND FREE FROM THE FEAR OF INJURY AND ABUSE.

Yes but I can avoid the buses or burger vans. Not much I can do if someone standing next to me at a football match and forces me to breathe in their stuff, other than not to go at all. All I'm asking for is some consideration, just as I don't cough in their face or sneeze on them, though I maybe I should start. Anyway, I get it doesn't bother you, no problem, but it bothers me and all I'm asking for is a bit of consideration.

Yes, I did on Sunday and will do if it happens again. I was in my usual seats but it wasn't the usual SS crowd around us on Sunday and usually isn't a problem. But I have asthma, things generally go to my chest/lungs and I worry (a bit) about these things.

It's not about being purse lipped, it's about not wanting to breathe in other vapour/fumes that people have just sucked in and then blown out of their mouths and that smell and taste horrible.

Highlight of the day was when PW came over to the south stand afterwards, removed his bobble hat and gave a theatrical, pantomime-style bow. Marvellous.
On an separate note, lots of people vaping in the SS. It's disgusting having to breathe that in. Any chance you could show some consideration and wait until half/full time and go outside? Thanks.

Me, too - it's quite confusing, isn't it? In a nice way - tests the spatial awareness!
Vulcan Ram, it's the same at away matches - it feels like stewards all turn a blind eye to the vapers. Shame, really, as we'd completely eliminated the smoking and I think the vapes smell worse and affect more people.
It sounds like we're killjoys if we say anything about it, not sure why they bother with all these rules if they aren't going to implement them.

VulcanRam got a reaction from Ellafella in Derby County Vs Accrington Stanley: player ratings
13Wildsmith 7 another cold and quiet afternoon
12Smith 7 noticeably getting forward a lot more in the last couple of games, and set up Hourihane's goal with an excellent run
3Forsyth 7 solid and steady
6Cashin 7 same as the Foz
17Sibley 7 another impressive outing, though hardly tested
Roberts 6 did what he was sent on to do
4Hourihane 7.5 much better, seemed to get around the pitch a lot more as we had an extra man in midfield
8Bird ? 7 patrolled the midfield comfortably
18Dobbin 7 good threat, fortunate assist
Osula 4 missed and sitter and stupidly got himself a red card
38Knight 9 All action, at the heart of everything, helped free up those around him which in turn caused havoc in the Accies defence, outstanding performance.
7Barkhuizen 8 two goals and a constant threat
Mendez-Laing 7 a good out ball, carried the threat once all the changes were made and with Osula off
10McGoldrick 7.5 as always, the most composed player on the pitch
Thompson 6.5 added good energy and worked hard
Steargoat - 6.5 won a great header with his first (and possibly only) touch. Loved his interaction with the crowd as he warmed up
Stearman
