As each day passes I think worsening things about Chris Martin. I am currently at ‘wishing him a career ending injury’ level. Can we please, please have some threads which do not include the need to mention bloody Chris Martin.

Probably take a look at the squad and say 'where's Chris Martin'?

I’d rather have Bielik in the ‘Thorne’ role. Shinnie as the Bryson and then take ya pick for the Hughes role (Knight, Sibley, Holmes?)
Other than the gaping void that is Chris Martin. What we currently have is much better strength in depth than we had when Steve first came in. When Hughes or Martin or Thorne/Eustace were out for a month or 2 we had v little back up. Whereas now we do have many more options. Would love to see him get the best out of this lot. But I’m also mindful of his shortcomings.

Beat the team ranked number one in the world, that has only lost twice in 45 games.

That's true but the problem in the first place was that referees were making blatant inexcusable errors which also ruined games. I remember Cardiff lost to Chelsea as a result of 2 clear offside goals scored by Chelsea. This is why everyone wanted VAR so we would always get the correct decision. But it's almost as if we've gone to the complete extreme. Now linesman aren't even allowed to put their flag up. They have to wait for VAR to draw out lines over the video footage to see who's left toe is in front of the defender. It's a total joke. There is absolutely no common sense in any of these rules, or in the use of VAR.

I think that's the point. They don't want refs to use 'common sense' because that means you'll get different refs interpreting things for themselves and inconsistency.  Their solution to that; remove all subjectivity from the game. This means no more inconsistency and its absolutely clear to everyone why decisions go the way they do. It all sounds so plausible and sensible on paper. But when this kind of thing is put to the test in the real world it clearly shows itself to be utter b*****ks.  
There is 'harsh' and there is completely 'unfair'. What happened to Spurs there was completely unfair and there shouldn't be a place in the rules where something happening completely out of the control of the players is a 'foul'. What a nonsense this game is becoming.

Seriously, He would do so much better with these players.
At the very least he would show some passion.

So the end of an era and we won't see a better Centre forward at Derby for a very long time I fear.
Martin,together with several players from the Mac era,reignited by love for Derby and the Derby way of playing exciting,skilful football that was a joy to watch.
Wish him well at Bristol where I am sure he will flourish and their gain is certainly our loss which I hope doesn't come back to bite us on the arse on at least two occasions this season.
