  1. It's just panto - couldn't give a **** when it was sung at us and happy for people to sing it at Reading - who I believe sang similar at us. It's a football match not a love-in.
  2. Re the pen for me the ref got it right. Ok Ive only rewatched it on my phone but it looks to me like Gayle is taken out and if his arm touches the ball it's as a result of that. If someone has a slo-mo/still to prove different fair enough.
  3. If you keep yourself fit you shouldn't lose much by your mid 30s - you just need to work harder to stay fit - I think we saw what happens if you don't with Rooney.
  4. 1Wildsmith. 6.5 For me no fault with the goal 35Nelson. 7 Solid and won loads in the air in tne latter stages 5Bradley. 5. At fault with their goal - for me the jury is still out. 2Wilson. 6. Did what you'd expect 6Cashin. 7 Good on the ball, defensively sound 23Ward. 6.5. Some good balls in and wasn't exposed defensively 27Blackett-Taylor. ,6 32Adams. 7 4Hourihane. 5.5. Thought he was poor and his score would be lower but fir the pen. 12Smith. 5.5. Didn't really get into the game 17Sibley. 6.5. 7Barkhuizen. 6.5 25Gayle. 7 10Waghorn. 6.5. Forced a good save - showed willing 11Méndez-Laing. 6.5 3Forsyth. 6. I'd probably start him over Bradley. Warne 7. Didn't over think it - thought the subs made reasonable sense.
  5. Thought it was a decent game to watch and good atmosphere. On general play we deserved it even if we needed a few decisions to go our way. Having watched the penalty decision again I still couldn't say for sure if it's a handball before he gets cleaned out - maybe there's another angle? The red does look soft though.
  6. Ok I got the impression we'd made that loss ignoring the money to Quantuma - if that is factored in then looks fine.
  7. Be interesting to see the next set of accounts. Given Keiran Maguire reckoned the average league 1 loss is ~£1m and our income is massive - think he said Portsmouth were at £13m ish ?? - and we are nowhere near the limits on player wages spending as a proportion of income - you'd think we shouldn't be losing money let alone £10m. I'm guessing the academy and exceptional circumstances account for that.
  8. Head says 3-1 to Rovers with Martin getting two. (heart says 3-2 Derby)
  9. Pre Barnsley someone posted the respective run ins and I thought this is looking great for automatic. Ok 2 defeats in 3 isn't great but I still think we've got as much chance as Bolton or Barnsley of 2nd and if forced to choose I'd say with us getting some strikers fit and CBT coming into the team we are maybe very slight favourites of those 3. Nyambe is potentially a huge loss though.
  10. I still say Sibley get's judged to a higher standard than others. For me he's been ok this season - whatever division we end up in I'd offer him a contract - maybe not the wages he's on if he's a top earner (I don't know) but I can't see how he's done worse than most of Warne's signings and he's done significantly better than say Bradley who plays every game now.
  11. Unless they are going to have a say in transfers and tactics I'd say that's probably the limit of any influence they'll have
  12. ATG 1Wildsmith. 6.5 not much to do but did it well 35Nelson. 7 Solid 5Bradley. 5.5 Big error could have cost us a goal 6Cashin. 7.5 23Ward. 7.5 8Bird. 6.5 32Adams. 6.5 4Hourihane. 6 17Sibley. 7.5 11Méndez-Laing. 6.5 27Blackett-Taylor 6.5 25Gayle. 6.5 10Waghorn. 5.5 Barkhuizen. 5.5 12Smith 6
  13. One thing they can do it tell the club to calm down with the stewards in the South Stand. Went for a gypsies at HT and was told rather than return along the front of the stand I'm meant to climb and descend a set of stairs. I know it's a small thing but I'm a paying customer I'm going to walk the quickest easiest way to my seat and I don't need about 100 stewards lined up in front of the stand to stop me running onto the pitch either.
  14. For me we normally play to the level of the opposition. We didn't really play any worse than Barnsley or any better than Shrewsbury or Burton. Most games that we win or lose the beaten manager could probably claim with some justification it could have been a draw. We win more than we lose but maybe because we have more individuals that can produce moments of quality. Today I don't think anyone could argue we weren't worth the 3 points - it wasn't particularly flowing football but on the balance of chances created/conceded we were a distance ahead.
  15. No doubt he'll be out first quiet first half he has.
  16. Rosenior's record wasn't very poor - he had us in the same place Warne finished only without the benefit of McGoldrick 90% of the time. He's showing at Hull that we should have kept him.
  17. Yes and with both Smith and Adams we had plenty of midfield cover for at least one full back to attack - Nyambe being more defensive.
  18. Strong words about statistically one of the best coaches in Europe...
  19. Didn't it go wrong going to a back 5 last night though? I know Warne's in game changes can be hard to keep track of but for me we at least looked fairly solid with a 4 when Nyambe was on. As for putting the defeat down to playing too much football at the back - pretty much all we did was launch it. For me he gets this season and he needs to get us up - otherwise he's gone and if not I can see Pride Park being toxic. 80% of match going fans I speak to think the football we play is not worth watching.
  20. ATG 1Wildsmith. 4. What were you thinking 24Nyambe 7 going off was game changing 7Barkhuizen. 5 35Nelson. 6 5Bradley. 5.5 6Cashin. 6.5 2Wilson. 5 12Smith. 6.5 17Sibley. 5.5 32Adams. 5 27Blackett-Taylor 5 11Méndez-Laing. 5.5 8Bird 🐦 5.5 25Gayle. 5.5 10Waghorn. 5.5
  21. If you don't renew you'll probably find within a season or two you hardly go. Match tickets for decent games are expensive and you end up sitting away from whoever you normally go with - and you just find different things to do on a Saturday.
  22. Not against removing citizenship of people who came here and commit serious crimes - for example some of those convicted of grooming - but in Begum's case she was born here, she wasn't a Bangladeshi citizen just had the right to claim it and was under 18. Any one of those factors for me means she should face any justice here in the uk. Just on principle I don't think the justice system should make an example of individuals and undoubtedly that is happening here.
  23. Maybe but in a relationship it doesn't hurt to make an effort.
  24. Liked the way Warne came over to clap the fans pre match. Thought that was a small positive from the day - nobody can guarantee a win or even a performance but little things can help create a bit of a common spirit.
  25. Bit if a thread resurrection but this 3 part series recently was good. Apart from the focus on the miners strike I think it younger viewers might be struck by how politics has changed in 40 years. https://www.channel4.com/programmes/miners-strike-1984-the-battle-for-britain
