You know who is already rubbing his hands with glee and meeting with his lawyer mates!

Too big a gamble mate and Warne will have better targets lined up.

It would be classed as a possible hate speech towards the Jewish community.
People need to understand it’s about the language he used, not the fact he was criticising the government.

Glad to see the back of them all. Fans want to see the action from the games rather than 3 overpaid androids spouting their opinions.

No, he referred to the 1930's germany who wanted to get rid of the undesirables and jewish people. I always took that to be the nazi regime, i must have been wrong then?

Defending immigrants?
I thought the Tweet causing the controversy was one where he was comparing our Government to the Nazis?

Lineker can’t be surprised as he’s sailed close to the wind for years knowing full well his views were causing friction with his employers - doing a good job of courting social media likes without going far enough to justify any pressure to sack him.
I’ve always liked Lineker, loved him for England and have always rated him as a presenter. Whilst You always have to be careful with politics in the workplace, you have to respect anyone who wears their heart on their sleeve on issues they are passionate about and I certainly don’t believe in forced apologies.
I do think Lineker (who isn’t daft) may have misjudged this one though… he will know full well the controversy he was gonna cause by invoking 1930s Germany- something which has to be well thought out - not easy on twitter with limited characters (better for sniping than making a reasonable argument). Whatever he was trying to point out and however valid, his argument has been lost as we are now talking about cancel culture and bbc impartiality rather than any lack of humanity in immigration policy. He’s also lost his job, which is all very well as he’s old enough and rich enough not to need a long term career or the money - though others who work in the studio and production of MOTD (who will on much more modest money) could suffer should they permanently ditch the punditry.

No idea as never really researched it.
Did Lineker compare the Labour party to the Nazis following the anti semitism issue? I'm going to guess not.

All this solidarity cr*p makes me nauseous. The millionaire ex-footballer went against the rules of the business he works for, couldn’t not expect a response.

This is great. Get back to the Big Match and Star Soccer of the 70/ 80s more football, less opinion. Why have any sports programme when 50% is ‘analysis’ by over paid presenters saying the same things we do?

I wonder how Ainsworth will do as a football manager having been at Wycombe for so long.

No disrespect to Collins but he reminds me of an over aggressive bloke we had at 5 a side. He would take a secret powder rumoured to be used by the Russian weightlifters 60 mins before ko and do 30 press ups on his knuckles before kick off and then run around kicking everybody without getting near the ball.
