Ah yes, Pauline Latham offering absolutely nothing of value to the conversation. I guess the MP needs the spotlight rather the other attendees.

Because they've been backed into a corner and pressured into giving an update that doesn't just say 'negotiations are ongoing'
Even though there's probably no way that they can guarantee they'll be able to follow through on it.
Basically 'Team Derby' being pushy and getting ideas above their station on how much influence of proceedings they actually have - things won't  / can't hurry along just because they 'urge' them to but by almost forcing Quantuma to make another statement giving some sort of timescale, they're giving themselves an opportunity to either pat themselves on the back if something does happen (and delude themselves of their influence) or pin Quantuma to the wall if/when it doesn't.

I wish i could really agree with you that players will want to play for us because of our name and tradition but sadly i don't think that is the case anymore, you can't live on history, all we are now, it seems, is that we are a club in trouble and i apologise if anyone thinks that is a negative view but that's how it looks. If a new owner gets the club with a -15 point start that means the EFL can still put a constraint on the wages we can offer. If we can't entice them with a competitive wage they will look elsewhere. It is not just like we need a few players to bring the squad up to depth we need virtually a complete new squad. I don't envy any manager with the task they face whichever league we are in.

Agreed. Don’t think the fans reactions will play any part in his business decisions. Mel Morris has blamed a lot of things and people (EFL, Covid) but it’s on him to run DcFC so poorly. A business that was well run and increases its wage bill to unsustainable levels Is always at risk if things go wrong. He probably has found EFL difficult to deal with - they seem inept and I believe there has been a vendetta against Morris / DCFC but at the end of the day, he’s run up a massive tax bill, debts and put Derby into administration. He was trying hard to sell this club pre COVID and only attracted chancers ... why? Because of how it had been run. Looks vert bleak at the moment and relegation probably makes it worse to attract any buyer.

Personally I think it`s the only hope.
I`ve said all along that the "bids" are no where near enough to progress to a preferred bidder. I still feel HMRC are going for more than 25%. They pushed for years for rule changes to stop Football Clubs using a 12 point deduction (previously 9) to lower tax bills, and I firmly believe that they will sacrifice £7.5m to make the Football World sit up and take notice. Despite the statements made that HMRC will not be the sticking point.
The loan situation is horrendous and the debt continues to rise. It`s just a case of clinging to the hope that one day SOON, MM will wake up with a very guilty conscience and do the right thing.

I don't think for one minute the EFL would allow that to happen, they would demand proof that we could fund a complete season,if we can't then we are expelled from the league.

There smacks an air of hypocrisy as there would be no posts like the above if the "fake sheikh" had turned out to be the real deal. There would have been no questioning of how he got his riches or whatever went on in his country.  He would have been welcomed and seen as the savior of the club in much the same way the new owner of Newcastle has been received by the fans.

How could we sell off PP, we don't own it? Where would we get the money from to build a new stadium? To start with a smaller capacity and then extend the ground is only remotely realistic if/when we found ourselves as a regular in the Premier League. That ain't going to happen any time soon so, our ambition would be to get back the the championship as soon as possible where a capacity of 37-40,000 would be too big and 22-25,000 too small (hopefully).
I totally get everyone's anger with Mel but to look to move away from PP just to spite him feels a little short sighted to me and a case of cutting your nose off to spite your face.
Personally, whilst I accept it's always possible we have no alternative, I hate the prospect of ground sharing.

They wouldn't be accepting the consequences though. And the best offer might probably be not good enough to satisfy the creditors,  HMRC etc so they can't act on it.

OK you're now one of the proud owners of DCFC, £40m spent on a football club, We have 4 /5 players in contract, The Manager needs another 15/20m in transfer fees and wages, Our fanbase has dropped to circa 18000 in league 1.
A committee is formed, A Chairman is elected to run the club, Shares are given to those who paid £2k, Those who paid more get more shares, The committee try to get a shirt deal and settle on the local brewery Derby Brewery for £250k for 3 years.
Money is being stretched so the committee goes to the shareholders for more loot, Those fans decide to sell their share as money is tight, Rich committee members buy the shares but still money is tight, Fans screaming as our 1st season in League isn't going to well, The committee make a statement, DCFC are for sale as we can't afford to keep pumping money into a club where as soon as it's banked it goes down the plug hole.

That's because they are playing in the Premiership and have won the Champions League, Europa League and Premiership title in the past 5-6 years. We're haven't been in the Premiership for the last 15 odd years we are just insignificant.
Sunderland whom have been in League 1 for the past 4 years have far higher levels of support than we do but they are even less significant. People don't give a rats ass unless you're in the Premiership end of.
Morris tried that and stuck all his money (and other people's coincidentally) on red and it came up black, happy days.
No buyer is interested in a club with history or a decent fanbase especially if they are doomed to enter League 1 with no squad and you're paying for the debts that someone else decided to rack up then piss off without honouring.
You'd have to be totally off your rocker. And people moan about Quantuma and why the takeover is taking too long. Really?

Sadly, whilst in principle it sounds good, I fear the thoughts of being constrained by fans having a say in what happens may well put any new owners off.

They do though, most clubs in administration stay that way for far longer than we've been in it. Being in administration and just being up for sale aren't the same anyway.
Chelsea aren't in administration, it's a unique situation. People looking to take over there are doing so because they're a 'fashionable' London club falsely boosted into a position as one of the biggest clubs in the country, and a huge commercial business.
It's sickening / galling just how quickly things are moving there, but it's not at all a like for like situation.

The fans protest and the potential buyers are saying ‘the natives are restless, better put my money down and stop messing about’. Not going to work like that. Protesting about Quantuma like we know anything about what’s going on. We don’t. They aren’t going to talk about things that have been held under non disclosure no matter how many fans start swearing on Twitter.
