Isn't that what the 12 points was for? And wasn't there supposed to be a force majeure clause whatever happened to that? The club is not shafting anyone , the admin team are trying to get the best deal for the creditors they can, why should they be punished for that.. any further punishment now only damages the prospects for creditors,  it is counter productive.

OF course they are shafting their creditors if they are not paid in full, if we get a new owner any further punishment damages them and the club not the creditors as the level of debt repaid is agreed before takeover. It is up to the new owners to decide how they want to proceed.

Sad to say that Rooney’s guilty dream must be that Everton are relegated and that he is offered the job. Fair chance that might happen
I don’t see him as a manager in div 1 and I’d think he’d see that as a very bad outcome

Could be jumping out of the frying pan into the fire regarding Everton, hasn't their main backer been sanctioned and the owner trying to distance himself and the club from him leaving them short of cash.Still think he will go just not to Everton.

I wonder if we would be allowed to start next season still in adminstration? We would not be allowed to start 2 seasons in adminstration, but that wouldn't be the case.

It would obviously need the EFL to loosen the embargo, but if they allowed us to sign free agents and feeless loans upto a certain wage, maybe £3.5 k per week, we ought to be able to cobble together a squad for League 1. Maybe a wage bill of £8m? That should be covetable with our income from walk up tickets - assuming not allowed to sell STs, and TV money.

Hopefully it won't come to that, but better than liquidation if there is a bid still being negotiated.

If we were still in administration why would the EFL loosen the strings, nothing has changed. They will be more concerned that we can prove financially we can complete next season. If the administrators can't prove that then we will be expelled from the league.

Young kid, older agent. There's no sentiment involved there, it's all about the money. My point still stands.

That's what football is all about these days, players kiss the badge then 6 months later they are gone, they only have allegiance to the club while they have a contract, if they receive an offer that makes them better off financially then they go and then show allegiance to their new club. Plus the fact players have access to a bigger market now.

Thats a big assumption there mate. Seems like you're judging all Derby fans by your own standards.

Many would question it. Probably not a majority I guess but certainly a good percentage.

You are wrong totally wrong about my standards, how many fans would have welcomed him as the new owner, not many would have complained the situation we were in. Just the same as Newcastle fans seem to have welcomed their new owner.

Looking at it from a hard businessman perspective, they will of course have crunched the figures for next season, and the season after, on the assumption that we will be in League 1 from 2022 to 2024.  I suspect the decisions that will be being made will to be get as much value as possible from the sale of Bird, Knight, Sibley and Bielik, reinvesting a modest amount of that money in fees for new players experienced in the combat of League 1 - but looking to maximise free transfer incomings on the basis that players will want to play for us because of our name, tradition, etc.  I also think the Academy as we currently know it might be downscaled until we are back in the Championship, or at least on an even financial footing. Its bleak stuff; it was never going to be pretty once we went past January without a preferred bid in place.

I wish i could really agree with you that players will want to play for us because of our name and tradition but sadly i don't think that is the case anymore, you can't live on history, all we are now, it seems, is that we are a club in trouble and i apologise if anyone thinks that is a negative view but that's how it looks. If a new owner gets the club with a -15 point start that means the EFL can still put a constraint on the wages we can offer. If we can't entice them with a competitive wage they will look elsewhere. It is not just like we need a few players to bring the squad up to depth we need virtually a complete new squad. I don't envy any manager with the task they face whichever league we are in.

Whatever the shenanigans are behind the scenes its pretty obvious now that the stadium is not an issue.

John Forkin (Team Derby) has been involved with talks with Quantuma and has clearly stated that the Stadium is NOT a blocker. I don't see any reason why he would make that up.

It must all be down to price and how much the creditors are willing to accept.

What he actually said was "it seems to me", that doesn't mean he has any conclusive knowledge of the situation.

Kinda but I think it’s probably complicated and messy.

Lets say Ashley wants to buy the stadium rather than the club (that is my gut instinct anyway but that’s by the by) so he pays off the MSD debt, leaving Appleby to sort the creditors. In the short term, it works and then the club pays a lease to Ashley whilst Ashley does what he wishes with ‘The Pride of Sport Direct Park’ but eventually you’d imagine the club would want the stadium back. The issue with that that it wouldn’t take much to take it away from being a reasonable price for the sell back. The stadium was worth £80 mill before administration, it would be worth around that again and so it would become a huge issue. It doesn’t take much thinking to realise all the scenarios that could occur there.

I think the more sensible outcome, if you were looking at the idea of splitting the bids, would be for the council to buy the stadium from Mel, lease to the club with the idea it would be brought back into the club at a later date.

Seeing as MM is supposedly the business ambassador for Derby City Council you would think he would "gift" the ground to the council. There is no way the council will buy it,for a start they wouldn't be able to afford it,many councils are cash strapped as it is.

  9. 51 minutes ago, i-Ram said:

MM is indeed the crux of it all. He transferred the ground into his own shell company to get himself out of one hole, and then he used the ground as collateral to get him out of the next hole.

We shouldn't be keeping him sweet. We should be demanding at the top of our voices that he returns the stadium to the club, and that he personally repays the 'short term' loans he took out with MSD.

It seems as clear as it could be, that there are a minimum of two bidders still at the table, who are offering something more than the £30m offered by the Binnies. I can't imagine much more. It is becoming increasingly clear that no bidder is prepared to significantly increase their offer, particularly with L1 football now more likely than ever next season. I think a bidder will still be prepared to pay up to £35m for the club AND STADIUM, and therefore accept a -15 point start for next season.

Morris has to shift, or face the fan's wrath for the rest of his born natural.

If any bidder is prepared to pay under (and for it to be accepted) the asking price and accept a -15 point start for next season that seems to me they will be working to a budget they already have in mind besides the further sanctions that would be imposed by the EFL. I don't see any reason why they would want to carry on with the academy,at least in it's present form,as that would be a saving on the budget. An academy in league 1 wouldn't be seen as much an attractive proposition to youngsters as it is in the Championship.

As soon as the season ends we're awarded Central EFL funds for the 21/22 season (not far off £7m). As the summer progresses, we'll receive the lion's share of our money from sponsors for the 22/23 season, which will be £3-4m in L1, £5m+ in the Championship.

But the £7M will go towards settling some of the debt, it won't be used to keep the club going for the closed season.

How can i be surmising when people are critical and questioning where foreign owners get their money from or what human rights events are happening in their country.

I think we are done sadly, and I feel that I'm starting to accept this eventuality.

I suspect we'll still be a club by next season in league 1, with some ancient players on 6month contracts, but doubt we'll make Christmas and fold.

I don't think for one minute the EFL would allow that to happen, they would demand proof that we could fund a complete season,if we can't then we are expelled from the league.

Sorry Alf your reply just doesn't stand up to my post, it's only because he didn't  that people are questioning the moral/ethical conduct of other owners.

  14.  There smacks an air of hypocrisy as there would be no posts like the above if the "fake sheikh" had turned out to be the real deal. There would have been no questioning of how he got his riches or whatever went on in his country.  He would have been welcomed and seen as the savior of the club in much the same way the new owner of Newcastle has been received by the fans.

Could so easily have been three points, then again the two 1 on 1s they missed were fortunate (second one a great stop from Allsop).

A point helps neutralise the danger of a Reading draw but we're fast approaching the last chance saloon.

Very confident answer just now from Lawrence saying he "definitely" believes we will survive the drop.

He's not going to come out and say we are going to get relegated is he!

Sadly Festy hasn’t been sold and we get nothing. He is signing a contract next week, according to Rooney, as we couldn’t offer him a new one. Though it has been mentioned we might get compensation because of his age. But I doubt it somehow

Yes my mistake,i thought he was contracted until next year
