Archied got a reaction from Adslegend in The Administration Thread
As fans We don’t get a choice who owns or part owns our football clubs , ive been a derby fan for 55 years , would I let ANY owner make me walk away from such a massive part of my life growing up and following as an adult ? Would I duck ,
I want derby to survive and will support derby no matter who puts the money in to keep them alive , owners come ,stay a while then disappear some people seem to believe supporting the club means you support the ownership, you can support the club but dislike the owners ??♂️

I tend to record most live football on TV, start to watch a few minutes after kick off time.
Press play on recording then fast forward until the actual game starts thus missing all the virtue point scoring, you can easily fast forward up to real time when the ball goes out of play etc.
At half time stop watching and repeat the process.
Never knew pressing that fast forward button could be so satisfying

Yea your right , those of us who have watched the game for 50 odd years should just shuffle off quietly now the money men and the virtue signallers have decided they want the game
-
Archied got a reaction from cstand in Get the politics out of our game
Nope , football used to be 90 mins of pure escape from daily life , turn up and shout your head off and be immersed in the game no matter what was going on in life ??♂️, the game has been hijacked first by the money makers now the virtue signallers at worst or those who want to use it as a platform for politics at best ,
look at the chelsea manager having to plead to stop being put on the spot re abramavich , klopp spouting constantly, if you want to constantly spout your politics s Klopp ( non jabbed are the same as drink drivers just one of his gems )then give the football up and stand for election ,
chelsea ? Why punish the fans ? Any income can be frozen and allow fans to buy tickets to watch their team , it not five minutes ago the owner was donating the Stamford bridge hotel for free to help the covid effort ??♂️

Personally I would rather we have the dawn of a new era where the U.K. took a Switzerland stance remaining neutral and drew back from getting embroiled in wars ??♂️

Good news, Svetlana has arrived, and the first £350 pm payment has been banked. Thanks Rishi.
Better news, she has two girl friends equally keen to join her. With £1050 extra income I can comfortably rehouse the wife.

I agree with those who think that the post cold war expansion of NATO has been risky and probably counter-productive. It simply doesn't matter whether it sees itself as an offensive or defensive organization, all that matters is whether Russia perceives NATO to be a threat or not. And given NATO's genesis and reason for existence, it is reasonable to assume that many Russians would still see NATO as a threat. The post cold war expansion also broke an agreement that the West had with Gorbachev, but of course we can never know what would have happened had NATO remained confined to western Europe like they had agreed. Would Russia have become more peaceful...or would they have been emboldened...who knows?
The irony is, by his actions Putin is now acting as recruiter in chief for NATO. Not only are NATO countries going to increase their military budgets, but those countries not already in NATO may look more favourably on joining. By invading Ukraine, Putin makes NATO membership seem sensible and prudent..... where without him or someone like him, NATO would be anachronistic and pointless.
I presume this is a little dig at the French. France has the best military record in the history of Europe apparently. To quote Wiki
'According to historian Niall Ferguson, France is the most successful military power in history. The French participated in 50 of the 125 major European wars that have been fought since 1495; more than any other European state. They are followed by the Austrians who fought in 47 of them, the Spanish in 44 and the English (and later British) who were involved in 43. Out of 169 battles fought since 387BC, they have won 109, lost 49 and drawn 10'.
Not a big fan of Niall Ferguson but I assume he can count ?
